Do you know this player, he signed with Marseille, but I've never heard about him, I think he was in the B team of Malaga, so he musn't be a killer, he will be our 4th striker for the rest of the season, and I'd want to know more about him, and if he may bring something to us... I think it's strange to engage such an unknown player, and will not play very much, we have Drogba, Mido and Marlet before him, he may play some match endings...
I wasn't aware that he was signed away from Malaga. He got some playing time last year with the first team, even making an appearance in the UEFA Cup quarterfinals for Malaga. He scored one goal in a first division match or European match for Malaga last year, but was basically a prospect (local boy from Malaga) who got a sniff with the first team and now is getting more seasoning by playing with the B team. Of all the prospects that Malaga has though, they have been highest about Koke among the attackers that are currently playing for the "B" team in Segunda, where he has scored 2 goals this season. He's 20 years old, still under contract with Malaga, so it's only a loan to Marseille, who according to Marca (Spanish sporting newspaper), had players go down to injury, so were looking for some extra players to provide depth on the bench should one more Marseille attacker get injured. The loan goes through the end of June, then he will be back with Malaga.
Ok thanks, this move seems strange, because in case of injury OM has his own young players, I wonder why they got this guy... but who knows he may be a good surprise if he has the chance to play...
I'm not sure why the move was made either, but maybe from Malaga's perspective, they are giving a good prospect an opportunity to play first division soccer when he wouldn't playing for Malaga B. I don't know what motivation is behind Marseille's move, it sounds like they need him, but only to fill in for injuries or come off the bench.
