Choi Tae-wook has been indicted(without detention) of bribery. At this stage, it is just an allegation. Nevertheless, I doubt Choi will be hired unless his name has been cleared. https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.co...g-10-officials-facing-bribery-charges/1869481
Seriously though, the future of KNT has no light at the end of the tunnel. Who cares about a new manager at this point? The whole atmosphere in Korea regarding K-football is in the shitters right now. Honestly, how in the living hell do we progress from THIS?
Michael Muller is going to get fired or already was fired. Meeting today to find a replacement for him, that replacement will be in charge of finding the new manager. The KFA threw this guy under the bus when he clearly didn’t want JK. Please, please Muller just reveal everything. Let all the hate and attention that LKI is getting and revert it back to the KFA as karma for what they did to the kid. I hope the police actually does a thorough investigation and release as much dirt to the Press. Purge the KFA
Jung Hae Sung, Lee Im Saeng, Lee Young Pyo as candidates for Muller's replacement. I am down for LYP.
LYP will try to spread christian values across the entire organization causing another controversy. No thanks.
Jung Hae Sung appointed. They again confirmed they will hire a Korean manager by the end of this month. No interim manager. Fking idiots. They were mainly criticized for having no process, and again they are gonna hire a 소방수 in 1-2 weeks without any process/vision again.
Where are these Steve Bruce rumors coming from?! Not that I want him, but maybe some noise to at least enable some transparency from the KFA
JHS "we are not gonna rush but we will try to hire a new manager by the end of this month". "We are considering both foreign and domestic managers but considering how little time we have, we are leaning more towards the domestic ones" ?????
The Executive Committee is going to have another meeting on the 24th and the search for the next manager will intensify. So far HMB is the leading candidate based off of qualities the new Chairman is looking for
Hong Myungbo already failed miserably at 2014 World Cup. How would he be a good candidate 10 years later when the sport itself has evolved even further?
🚨 | Journalist Yoon Ji-man of Sports Chosun shared in an interview that Herve Renard is open to coaching the Korean national team and has gone so far as to lay conditions, including bringing an assistant or two, assuring that his team would still be cheaper than Klinsmann's… pic.twitter.com/wwZPZlluad— Joel Kim (@KNTFootball) February 23, 2024 We can’t squander this chance. He wanted to coach Korea prior the JK hiring and still is interested. An extremely better coach than JK and cheaper too?! How is the KFA still picking their nose like idiots and want a domestic coach? There are certain coaches I like in the K league, but to the expense of screwing the club over a week prior of the season starting is a big No No. The smarter option is to maybe use a K league manager as an interim manager. Place an agreement with Renard and when the June international window is about to begin. Renard more or less will have an idea of his first call ups. I’m sure he will keep close to the players in Europe, but will probably watch K league games albeit probably in France for now.
Dangun in heavens, please give us Renard. He would transform KNT from this current mess into a dark horse at the next WC, if he made Saudi players look decent.
Won two AFCONS. Managed a Morroco side that got a bit unlucky and then only team to beat Argentina in the last WC. He made Saudi Arabia play attacking football and defensively press to win back possession. Charismatic and passionate. Would be a big fresh air. He has good European players at his disposal but because Saudi didn’t have any he had to look at players domestically. Pretty sure he can do the same for the players in the K league. His bread and butter are National teams so this guy is great for the KNT
