With Klinsmann gone. This can be a thread for discussing managerial candidates that you’d like to see as well as potential managerial rumors and updates posted by Korean media

Thats biggest job now. Hire a competent coach. Wich I doubt KFA can handle. Cause they never had really.

CMG need to stand down or removed before new KNT coach is hired.

    Otherwise same shit will happen.

Unfortunately it’s not going to happen. He’s the sole person running for a spot in the AFC representing East Asia. So he’s gonna stay until the next KFA elections. Which is next year I think. It’s hard to imagine him being re-elected as President. But KFA will KFA and re-elect him probably

CMG is delaying the inevitable. He will only fall harder if he continues on and everybody can see right through him now. The only thing that could save him is signing up Jurgen Klopp LOL.

Wouldn’t mind HMB or KGD. Just no CYS, HSH, or KHB. Might be a fast hire, HMB did say a while back he’s not going to coach the KNT again. But might give it a shot again. And should have a bit more prep time compared to his last stint. Also maybe he will finally call up JMK and UWS. KNT call ups will most likely be in two weeks based on past call ups being two Sundays before the first international match.

I am against hiring any kleague managers. Kleague is about to start. And KGD just got hired as the manager for FC Seoul. This does nothing but harming Korean football.

And HSH? Seriously? When Olympics are coming up very soon?

The fact that they are candidates in the first place tells me KFA is full of idiots and do not give a shit about anything but their own good.

Ya it was inevitable that the manager was going to be Korean after the Jk sack. HSH shouldn’t be manager he should focus on qualifying for the Olympics. Cause that’s going to cause a mess for the u23s. It sucks to see that the K league is gonna start and the KFA is going to poach a manager. But CYS negative football is going to be toxic and he’s not even physically healthy. Man should focus on his body first.

I would actually accept not even qualifying for the WC only if it means we get rid of JMG and get a proper chairman running the KFA once and for all. Only then can we move forward and at least have some realistic hope that Korean football can develop with more chances with better managers with more players playing in Europe.

With the hole we dug ourselves into, I would say HMB is an acceptable, tolerable choice for now for the KNT. Hopefully with more time given to him this time, he gets some tune out of this disarrayed group of players.

I just want this team to be unified again and play some semblance of organized football.

CMG holding onto power might be a blessing in disguise for the long-term good of Korean football. Failure to qualify for the next WC will surely trigger a complete and total cleanout of KFA.

New competent management and solid groundwork to nurture up-and-coming youth talents.

If it's Hong Myung-bo I hope he doesn't play favorites like in 2014. His constant call up of Jung Sung-ryong was a disgrace.

Nah. I am against hiring HMB. If he does not do well again this time, he will never be our manager again. He deserves full 4 yrs to build his own team.

Besides, he did not do any management work before Ulsan for a few yrs. He needs to prove himself more at Ulsan. I just don't wanna lose a good manager again bc of fking incompetent KFA. It's just not the right time to use him imo..

What is his managerial resume like? I think Hong Myung-bo is the best compared to the others.

I would actually hire Choi Taewook and Michael Kim (Bento’s assistant coaches). Since we didn’t re-sign Bento, get the next best thing.

Choi Yong-Soo is mentioned a lot because he is currently free from any contractual obligations.

He is defensively minded, likes using formations consisting of a back three, and used Yang Hyun-Joon well at Gangwon FC, but was let go last year due to poor results.

He is basically a very watered down version of Antonio Conte.

As I mentioned above, I just dont think it is the right time to hire HMB again. kleague is about to start. Wtf is Ulsan supposed to do if HMB leaves right now?

I dont understand why KFA is not even considering an interim manager for March.

KNT doesn't have quality wing backs let alone fullbacks to play his style. It will be stupid to hire him

I don't know why, but I just love Marcelo Bielsa's brand of football
