Local kid from the bronx... featured in the US under-20 team regularly (believed started over Edward Johnson)... Great size... I dunno what position he really plays (M/F)... If we can't get Alecko, he might be a possiblitiy... Anyone seem him play let us know. http://www.mgoblue.com/bio.cfm?bio_id=226§ion_id=295&top=2&level=3&season=45
I have not seen him play, but there used to be a thread about him, and it sounded like he only played forward for Michigan. There was also a post by someone speculating that that if he doesn't have the goods to play forward in MLS, a conversion to a back might be an interesting experiment.
He's a target forward who a lot of people think has real potential, but 1) he didn't start over Johnson for the U-20's and has not been featured regularly in any sense in part because 2) he's viewed right now as real raw- undeveloped. No one should be under the illusion that he would contribute this season and very little the season after. He can't be relied on as a third forward if that's what people here are looking for. There are a couple other forwards besides Escandarian who people think will contribute before Cameron does, but if a team is patient he may pay off big time.
you are right... he is consider the third forward (at best) in the under 20 team... Once Quranta went down in the qualifying match, Knox replaced him. Not Johnson. http://www.mlsnet.com/content/02/usa1117canada.html
The kid has a long ways to go to be a consistent finisher. Almost every report I saw about him said that he blew lots of chances. He's a project IMHO.
Why can't we pick him up with the picks towards the end of the draft? Maybe Bradley can groom him to become a really good player.
