    My Prediction :

I hope Messi and Neymar can prove me wrong , the issue is not with them but with their teams defense , can they keep out scoring their opponents specially when they meet a quality well organized balanced team ? we will see :)

Pretty much dead on, but with Suarez being out Colombia gets the edge. I also think US will knock out Belgium.

That would be awesome, but I've got a feeling it won't happen.

Brazil need to take their game up a notch, and Argentina has too many defensive holes. Unless they both improve, they're not going to get past the likes of Holland/Colombia/France/Chile/Germany, all of whom are in top gear right now.

I feel pretty confident saying that the Netherlands will win it all. Their path to the final is pretty doable, and they've looked outstanding so far. Their opponent? I'm going to say Colombia. They've really impressed me and I think they're being overlooked.

No way is UEFA doing a full house against non-UEFA opposition in the 1/8 final. I expect Sunday to put through Mexico and Costa Rica.

we could have 2 from north america , 2 from south america , 2 from europe and 2 from africa in the quarters , that would be a very interesting balanced confederation quarters , but there will be a lot of upsets if that scenario happens

No way either African team makes it to quarter finals.

2 from S. America OK OK 3 as Argentina should win....
2 from N America (USA, Costa Rica) Its possible :) Or add Belgium to the Euro teams
    3 or 4 from Europe

    Semi's:
2 S America, seeing as 4 knock each other out. But Argentina cause other side bracket.
Brazil on top, Uruguay done. Chile can do it. Rooting for Columbia.

Major wildcard teams. Argentina walked into Round 16. Any one of the four could come out of that Quarter. I would put Argentina at the top because they should be best, US, Swiss at bottom. Belgium dark horse upset. I wouldn't mind that at all.

2 Europe Germany, Netherlands. 'nuff said

If I had to put money on it? Both semi-finals will be a S. American team vs a Euro team.

I'm in the camp that's stats are only history.
At this level any of these teams could win any game. Weather, fortune, mistakes, ref calls..... take your pick.
All we can do is hope for our team.

Eh, maybe, maybe not. But I've liked how they've played. Holland I feel confident about. I'm sure this is their time. And has Brazil really looked that good to you?

Flopped with my 3-1 Brazil pick. At least I got the right team. Shouldn't have predicted a Uruguay 1-0 win over Colombia. That was moronic. My bracket this morning looked like this.

    Brazil-W
    Chile
    Brazil-W
    Uruguay
    Uruguay-W
    Colombia Brazil
    France-W
    France-W
Nigeria France-W 2014 FIFA World Cup Final
    Germany France-W
    Germany-W Argentina
    Algeria
    3rd Place
    Netherlands-W Brazil
    Mexico Netherlands-W Netherlands-W
    Costa Rica
    Costa Rica-W
    Greece
    Netherlands
    Argentina-W Argentina-W
    Switzerland
    Argentina-W
    Belgium United States
    United States-W

Only thing I'd change now is Colombia over Brazil in the quarter-finals. I think Colombia finishes in 4th place. They look like the surprise team that goes far. I don't think all 3 CONCACAF teams will advance. I think Costa Rica beats Greece and either Mexico or the US gets eliminated. If Mexico wins tomorrow then I think the US stays home. If Mexico loses then the US probably goes through.

Your saying you think US can beat Netherlands but not Mexico?
Watching Mex/Neth game right now. I feel either those teams beat US if they make it past Belgium. Netherlands the better team.

I would like to see Columbia beat Brazil. Playing their hearts out and Brazil barely making it through each game.

    Quarter-finals

    Brazil - Colombia
Brazil are obviously the favorites and I think they have performed fairly well so far. My reason for picking Colombia is that the game will probably suit them and their counterattacks perfectly and Brazil seem to depend too much on Neymar. Oscar, who had a good start to the tournament, needs to contribute more than he has in the last matches. I'm not sure about Júlio César either in this game; it seemed he had quite the mental discharge against Chile... Rodríguez and Cuadrado have been two of the best players in this WC. I like the underdog in this one even though it's a long shot.

    France - Germany
For me, France is the most complete and balanced team in this tournament. Cabaye/Matuidi/Pogba is the most dynamic midfield in the WC and Griezmann/Benzema/Valbuena one of the most complementary attacking compositions. The only goals they have conceded came when leading 5-0 against Switzerland... The Germans started out great but have played worse for each game. It's really strange to see how the movement from their attacking players changed from very good and smart in one game to lacking and unintelligent in the following three. The main issue though is their defenders; they look very shaky and work as individuals rather than a unit. Lahm is not performing well as a midfielder either; abscent in defense and an ineffective mover of the ball. Germany win if they play like they did against Portugal, France win if the Germans play like they did in the other three games. So I guess the odds are 3:1...

    Netherlands - Costa Rica
Costa Rica must have exhausted all their luck by now. They looked pathetic against Greece but somehow made it to penalties and won one of the least deserved victories in WC history. This joke has to stop now and the Netherlands should be more than capable of taking care of it even though they haven't really impressed me so far.

    Argentina - Belgium
Again, I like the underdog. For me, Belgium have looked like one of the strongest teams since game one. I know a lot of you disagree but I honestly think many underestimated their opposition in the group stage and did not give Belgium the credit they deserved for being the best team on the pitch in all their matches so far and finding ways to win every time not matter what tactics and mentality the were up against.

Countries that speak Romance languages dominate the World Cup. Until now won 15 from a total of 19 editions. And among the 8 finalists in 2014, 6 speak Romance languages: Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, France and may be even Belgium (40% speak french there).
