Nice goal from Gomez, which he's also initiated. Oh and he shot another one.

Sportschau commentator said, that he is clearly Germany´s number one striker now.:)

Good thing that Sportschau commentator isn't in a position to make NT selections. ;)

Why? You think he is not right?

But well seriously of course it´s just an opinion. But if you read German sources, then most sport journalists think Gomez has the edge in the NT too now.

lol, I said this a little earlier in the thread. Forget Mario and Miro, KK and Kießling should be battling it out. :D

I thought Gomez played well today, and the first goal was pin-point perfect. (Elsewhere on the pitch, I was particularly impressed by Boateng).

Boateng is certainly making his case for the RB position on the NT.

Yep. Strong, far better on the ball than one might otherwise think and creative to boot. Great ball to set up Rib for the second.

I'm really happy for Boateng, lots of skepticism about him over the years.

Interested to see how Klose does in the crazy Rome derby tomorrow.

I'd always rated Boateng, and felt that he needed to be in a side in which he could feel comfortable enough to play his natural game. He never found that at Man City, and I think he made the right move in coming to Bayern. Well, of course I'd say that. :)

Yep. A far tougher defence to crack than Hertha's, but let's see how he does. I don't usually watch Serie A is it usually bores me rigid, but have been trying to keep an eye on Miro this season.

Been saying Boa should be RB for a while, but he's no long term option (unless of course he improves there). I really am hoping for the day another quality fullback starts on the opposite side of Lahm, and not when he is about to retire.

You mean the defense with this Danish guy Kjaer? I must say I doubt that, having seen how miserable he played in Wolfsburg.

Doesn't sound like he's retiring anytime soon.

I can see Klose potentially starting for EM 2012, but by WM 2014 he will definitely be on the bench, if he's on the team at all.

The second one of the two being the 3-2 winning goal in the final against Brazil. In the 93th minute, of course.

Gomez becoming Germany´s best goalscorer in the modern CL today, scoring a hat-trick against Napoli, with now 17 goals.

Even though Klose plays a good season so far at Lazio I honestly can´t see Klose perform on the level Gomez showed again today.

What exactly is your point? Yes, I believe when people started watching football, they realized that if you play a club team, you are not going to play them in your national team unless it's some rare friendly.
