    1. She wasn't on the winning team.

    2. She didn't even score the most goals.

    3. One of our newbies kept her tied up and pretty ineffective the whole final. (YAY Chalupny!)

    She didn't have a good first half, obviously. I was on the way home during the second half, so I don't know if Mitts improved. But the D held it together and to shut out the Germans to me says that everybody, including Mitts, stepped up in the second frame.

    Solo's my #2 keeper on the NT behind Scurry after this tournament and has earned that spot, IMO on merit. US Soccer will probably give its POTM to Welsh once they get their match report posted (and there won't be a peep of complaint from me, promise), but Solo kept them in it. She and the D shut out the #1 team in the world, a team that had the same 11 starters that went to Athens out there today. The missteps v. Mexico and Scotland a couple years ago can be put to rest once and for all. I'd even say this if Solo was on the Beat :D

    When you consider where Norway ended up in the standings this seems to be another lifetime achievement award.

    But I will never :rolleyes: at Nordby. She's the only Norwegian player I will ever admit openly that I actually like.
