Gowan Stares grew up in England but didn't play football.

Now the 15-year-old Tawa College pupil is preparing to return to the mother country for a crack at the big time, having earned a trial at English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion.

  4. Guys, Ryan Thomas (18 years old) had a dream debut with PEC Zwolle. One assist and a goal in the cup match against Wilhelmina!
Then Thomas has to play against PSV.
Thomas is startled by the entourage. "awsome, In Nw zealand I played for 200-300 people. Now there were 33000! I tried not to pay too much attention on that!"

  5. Eyan Thomas made it into this week's AD Sportwereld team of the week:

KUSA - Anthony Hudson was named the new head coach of the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday.

“This is a very special moment for the Rapids,” said Sporting Director and Interim General Manager, Pádraig Smith in a news release. “In Anthony, we believe we’ve hired one of the most promising young talents and we’re extremely grateful for the support shown by the Kroenke family and the KSE executive team who remain committed to our goal of bringing another MLS Cup to Colorado.”

Hudson, 36, has been the head coach of the New Zealand national team the last three years.

Earlier this month, Hudson led New Zealand to an Intercontinental Playoff appearance against Peru. The New Zealand team fell just short of qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

  9. Ryan Thomas in Voetbal International's team of the first half of the season and still leading the chart of best player:
