Has it been determined yet? Will the Dudes wear white or will they wear teal? Just curious. I know it's academic.
Found the answer: From MLSnet.com ROOT, ROOT, ROOT FOR THE HOME TEAM?: It might feel like home for the Revolution on Sunday, but the Galaxy will look like the home side in MLS Cup 2002. Los Angeles will don their home teal-and-gold kits in the championship battle, forcing New England to wear its road whites. The Revs wore white jerseys at Gillette Stadium in honor of Independence Day, capturing a 4-1 win over the Columbus Crew. In another move of gamesmanship, the Galaxy also exercised their right to use the home bench for Sunday’s contest. However, the Galaxy did not take full advantage of the “home-field” advantage - the Galaxy decided not to kick the Revs out of the home locker room at “The Razor.”
Switching the focus from the MLS Cup final to the US Open Cup final... And it's probably what the Dudes will wear against Columbus on Thursday.
Re: Switching the focus from the MLS Cup final to the US Open Cup final... anyone have any confirmation on this? now that we've won the Cup (!!!!), i'm going to fulfill my promise of buying a jersey. i just dont know which one to get since i like both. [since we won the Cup in the teal, i'm leaning towards that one. but if we win thursday i might get both since we also won the USOC last year in that kit]
Re: Re: Switching the focus from the MLS Cup final to the US Open Cup final... youre team is apprently getting new colors and a new kit next year....but if you really like it now get it but thats just some advice from me
Re: Re: Re: Switching the focus from the MLS Cup final to the US Open Cup final... yeah, i'm aware of this. u see, i'm really not a jersey-buyer at all. i hate to put down $60-$70 for a shirt only to see it change the next season. but since this is the year we won the MLS Cup, i'm going to buy the teal kit [the one we wore in the Final], kind of as a symbolization of our Championship. the same goes with the white jersey if we win on thursday [i might buy it regardless of thursday's score since we wore that jersey when we won last year's USOC, though i obviously do hope we win this year also]. if we win the Cup again next year [!], then it'll be time to break out the wallet again!
Re: Re: Switching the focus from the MLS Cup final to the US Open Cup final... Actually, it all depends on what Columbus chooses to do. They're the home team for the match. The Dudes could wear teal, since the Crew usually wear yellow at home, but Columbus could pull out the roadies and make the Dudes wear white for the match. Look for Columbus to sieze every advantage against the Dudes.
Re: Re: Re: Switching the focus from the MLS Cup final to the US Open Cup final... If I had to guess we'll wear Black. We might even wear our third-kit Gray since we've done that against open cup competition to date this year.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Switching the focus from the MLS Cup final to the US Open Cup final... Even the NE game? I seem to recall wearing black for that one.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Switching the focus from the MLS Cup final to the US Open Cup final... we didnt play NE to get to the open cup final this year. i know we wore gray both times at home: against richmond and against kansas city. i'm guessing we wore gray away to metros too.
Re: Re: Re: Switching the focus from the MLS Cup final to the US Open Cup final... The Crew never wear Yellow at home.... It will be black or Gay for us I'll bet your "dudes" will be in the white kit Although, according to the USSF, this is not officially a home game for the Crew, and our club is not even allowed to distribute those free blow up stick thingies as the USSF claims it will be an unfair advantage. When we played Chicago in the final a few years ago at Soldier field it was actually a home game for us. It all depends on who US soccer designates as the home team, as to who chooses the colors, but I do suspect it will be The Crew
Kits for the US Open Cup final Shows what I know. I seem to remember the Crew wearing yellow at home in '96. Those days must be long gone. The USSF indicated it won't be a home game for the Crew? Seriously? Got a link? Are people really not buying tickets for this match?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Switching the focus from the MLS Cup final to the US Open Cup final... Not sure I buy all your kit color comments, but whatever. As for the USSFs abilty to screw things up. Maybe I should dig a little for some threads where Crew fans were throwing attendance smack around. I'd posted several months ago who the USSF were the reason the attendance at the final last year was so poor. Guess my point is now proven.
