Saw the game, and Miazga was great. I was actually a bit surprised at how comfortable he looked out there.

Looks like you may get your wish: Rumors flying around in Germany that John Brooks will not be traveling to 🇺🇸 for their upcoming #WCQ due to back problems. Will be interesting to see how @USMNT replaces him. #USMNT— Taylor Twellman (@TaylorTwellman) October 4, 2021
Alas, no replacement will be named. I have to think it's because they don't want him to do a ton of travel on short notice and would rather a local option just on call if we have another injury (probably Sands).
He should get a shot for the November qualifiers if he continues playing the way he has. The other thing to consider is Miazga is on a team that continually needs to defend which is great experience wise, but brings about a different style of play compared to the bunkering we need to break. Although I would have to imagine he’d do better than Sands. Would likely also do better than McKenzie given his lack of playing time.
We have had 2 different players in a La Liga "Team of the Week" 2 weeks running... What is even happening rn? as my kid would say. lol
He also did fine at Vitesse, which, while needing to defend fairly agressively vs. the top 4, played a kind of "B-side Ajax wannabe" footie when they were playing the lesser lights. He played with guys like Mount, Rashica, Wolfswinkle, Dabo who are fairly decent attackers at times. Vitesse is not now and never was a La Liga level side, of course, but it's not like MM has only played back-heel footie. One "interesting" (perhaps?) thing about MM's sojourns is the number of coaches/styles/Leagues he's played. Would be interesting to chat to what his POV is on the coaching philosophy/tactics side and how much - if any - affect they have on his play.
He's been playing well recently. If his level turns out to be La Liga, you can't say that's it's been bad for his development. But moving that much can make you unhappy
It's not untypical of the guys trapped in Roman's Loan Army to play in one different club each year, or more.
We've discussed this at length, but it really depends what your goal is/are. Would going to Vitesse (on Ered/Vitesse money) or Anderlecht (on Anderlecht money), playing there 4 years, and earning a transfer to Alaves have been "better?" Maybe, but Vitesse has had 6 coaches (well, technically 5 - but one of them twice) since Miazga started there with Fraser in 17/18, and I think made Europe 2x. Anderlecht at least has consistent Europe play and a name-brand coach... On the plus side you'd be in one city for 4 years (which, granted, can be attractive) on the - you're making less money and don't get to tell your grandkids you were at Chelsea... Probably depends on the person/player.
