    From MLS Confidential:

"COACH SEARCH: Fire general manager Peter Wilt says he's narrowed down to "a few" his list of candidates for the head coaching job. The top candidate seems to be U.S. assistant coach Dave Sarachan. Wilt has interviewed Boro Sucevic of the A-League Milwaukee Rampage as well as Keith Tozer of the NPSL Milwaukee Wave and ex-Burn coach Dave Dir.

Fire assistant coaches Daryl Shore, Tom Soehn and Denis Hamlett have been interviewed, as have assistants from other MLS teams. Believed to be in the latter category are Dominic Kinnear (San Jose)and Ralph Perez (Los Angeles)."

A weak link, but still a link.

Franky without Dom is like Ronnie without Richie! He can't go! :(

If Dom gets the job, more power to him. I wish him the best, allow though I'll be wishing for his head when the Quakes pay the Fire.

I'd bet Wilt talked to every possible candidate he could think of.

    Frank w/o DK is:

    Lando with no receeding hairline.

    Dwayne w/o the dreads.

    Troy w/o the cowboy hat.

    It just doesn't fit.

This is the way the coaching biz works. Assistant coaches gain experience and then try to find a head coaching job. That's how we got Yallop.

Looks like Kinnear is staying put for now...

Sarachan finally gets a chance to coach a team full time, be in MLS... if he does well with the Fire, I wouldn't be surprised if he moves to the top of the National Team list when Arena steps down, presumably after 2006...

We really have no idea who will be the coach after 2006. Was Arenas name tossed around after 94?
