What an FN joke! The Champions Cup is already expanded. No need for the League's Cup. If Garber is so concerned about MLS teams playing on subpar fields, will the CONCACAF cup also be skipped next?

Gross. Garber can get ********ed for this and I hope Leagues Cup fails even harder and faster than I did before as a result of this bullshit. Going to make sure my ST don’t autorenew as well, just because I was looking for an excuse not to bother with managing that any more and this is good enough for me. ********.

It's just one thing after another, isn't it? I've been priced out of going to more than a handful of games. I think SF has terrible sightlines. There are no Sunday matches. If T-Mobile doesn't give me an MLS Season Pass, my attention to the Fire this year may be restricted to checking the standings in the Sun-Times.

T-Mobile is NOT providing it this year. Apple won't allow it, apparently.

Just have a bigger crowd for the Fire II Open Cup games than for the first team's League's Cup games. We can try to set it up for the community. Even invite the pro/rel weirdos.

I’ll always support the Fire, but I don’t have to watch/attend Leagues Cup matches.

It’s too bad too, because I can see the potential and the fun with Leagues Cup and I didn’t totally hate it last year, but I can’t enjoy it knowing that MLS chose that tournament over the Open Cup.

Garber and N Rod can go f*** themselves. Looks like I have an excuse to follow Louisville City in the Open Cup this year. The crass unvarnished greed disguised as "concern" is so fvkcing INSULTING. USSF has zero balls either.

Really bittersweet decision IMO. Clearly only a money grab and contrary to Fire’s love for the event.
Only meager consolation is the decision gives the younger players a nice chance
to participate in a meaningful competition.
Not sure how the roster shuffle rules will read. Maybe they will allow “3 Overage
Players” like the Olympics or something similar.

This 100%. I know we are all upset about this but Leagues Cup attendance was significantly higher than US Open cup attendance for MLS teams. I don't like it but fans need to show up for the Open Cup

House host MNUFC!! March 20 @ Elmhurst College, 7:00 kickoff.

No, they couldn't have the games on two different nights. Cluster********!

Leagues Cup bracket out today and I am an absolute hater now :ROFLMAO: I’ll take another year of the Fire missing the playoffs (which is happening anyway - who am I kidding) in exchange for a Santos Laguna v. Atlas final that draws dozens of fans somewhere in Los Angeles. Of course it turns out NRod played a huge role in pushing MLS teams out of the Open Cup in favor of Leagues Cup - everything he touches turns to dogshit and Leagues Cup is really starting to stink.

I realize the League's Cup is a cash grab, but what other league in professional sports puts their leagues schedule on hold for over a month to play in an exhibition tournament? I understand putting a league on hold for the World Cup or as the NHL does for a couple of weeks for the Olympics. This Cup is such a farce!
