FC Bayern and Thomas Tuchel to end their working relationship in the summer

FC Bayern Munich and head coach Thomas Tuchel have jointly decided to end their working relationship, which was originally set to run until 30 June 2025, on 30 June 2024. This is the outcome of a constructive discussion between CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and Thomas Tuchel.

Feel sorry for KMJ for joining THIS iteration of Bayern.

Really hope once Tuchel is gone, Xabi Alonso becomes the new Bayern manager.

They should sell Goretzka and maybe Kimmich and bring in Wirtz. Sane should also be moved on, because the guy is too inconsistent for a club like Bayern. Never rated the guy compared to Son when he was in the EPL. Also really hope they bring in an actual #6 in the summer as well.

On a positive note, KMJ is putting in fairly good performances. Ofc hopefully he improves further as well.

Agree, he has joined a Bavarian shitshow.

WTF did he have a knock or has Tuchel lost the plot so bad that he benched KMJ for Dier?? Tuchel is losing all credibility. He's not having a 'Napoli' season but he's been their most consistent CB. Upa has been brilliant at times but he's like their Romero, you never know when he's gonna get himself suspended or pull a stupid move. DeLigt seems more a stay at home defender not suited to Tuchel's system and Dier is dire.

TBF, they have a lot of injuries but Sane is ridiculously inconsistent and Fonzie playing like he's checked out to Madrid.

They need a result @home vs Lazio or they're gonna get booed off the pitch in the worst way.

What I've noticed about Kim is that his speed has deteriorated somewhat after this summer. Not sure if it has anything to do with his military stint, but since the first game with BAyern, Kim has not shown his remarkable speed. Those CL games with Napoli, he just wiped Liverpool, Rangers, and pretty much all Seria A attackers with his make up speed, allowing him to cover greater areas and take more risks. He hardly ever got beat when cutting off passes, and on those rare instances he did get beat usually covered himself with sheer pace.

Not this season. So I don't mind this guy getting some rest. I'm confident he'll get it back though as he's still so young.

100% seems to have lost a step on his recovery pace.

So it seems the Real Madrid talk was real. Reports out of Canada saying Alphonso Davies and RM have reached a verbal agreement for him to leave Bayern this summer. With Muller near the end and maybe Kimmich on his way as well, whomever takes over after Tuchel will have to undergo a full rebuild

Which I think the team sorely needs. I only watched Bayern's CL games last season, and their performances this year are the same as the last. They don't advance through the middle. Always laterally then cut in the final third. Their lack of creative and holding midfielders is a huge deficit. Sane is usually doing his own thing independent of his teammates... And frankly I don't think Davies is a good player. He's speedy, and adequate, but not very reliable. Tel is a huge talent as is Musiala. Yea, team needs a refresh

yep the board and fans a little spoiled to say the least. 11yrs going makes the BL a joke. They need Xavi to see this through. Bayern need a reset. I think they would have been fine sticking with the Nagelsmann project. Shame Girlfriend Gate derailed it

Moreno on ESPN halftime just said Bayern on defense doesn’t have much speed so Freiburg should loop the ball behind the line more. So disappointing to hear this, would have rather had this observation unsaid…

easiest way to beat Bayern is what all the Prem teams did. Bait him as far up the pitch as you can, then when you gain possession, go over the top of him. He will never ever recover.

Feel sorry for KMJ covering all his lame mistakes

Moreno actually watching games this season as he says so he has something relevant to say but Bayern and KMJ sentiment aside, the only time this guy has a decent take is when it comes to La Liga and South American football. He does not do his homework and doesn't know enough about EU leagues to be taken seriously. ESPN were smart to remove him from the Premier League panel. The guy doesn't know what he's talking about half the time. He should stay in his wheel house = MLS

Looks like it was an automatic extension after he was put on pitch for 5 times.
Will be very interesting how the whole squad plays out with the new director of sports Eberl and a new manager in the new season. This team by now seems more transitional and temporal than anything else.

reports came out from training that KMJ didn’t train with the first team. This will be real FC Hollywood if Dier starts over KMJ tomorrow.

yeah all signs point to that road. What a stupid move to announce Tuchel’s sacking and then keep him around. This is ridiculous
