Ngl as much as I would feel bad if our boy KMJ and Kane don't win a single trophy this season, if Tottenham somehow wins their 1st league title since the days of black and white television, I wouldn't be too upset. There would be some hilarity to it I suppose, but if Bayern with our boy wins a trophy shortly, everyone would be happy in the end.
Great, solid performance from him against Dortmund today. Had some crucial blocks coming from him. Hopefully he doesn't get injured until winter break.
Any else notice he's a step slower this season? That one step made a huge difference in Italy and Turkey. I suspect his significant weight loss during the summer probably has a lot to do with this as he is maybe being a little cautious to avoid injury. The poor guy really needs some rest. Then he's got the Asian Cup in January too
Definitely fatigue and I've heard rumors that he is carrying a minor injury/pain as well. He is still playing well and I think even some Bayern fans are understanding that he is carrying the backline with his availibility alone.
Starts against Galatasaray. This guy is definitely not going get any rest for Bayern this year. Really hope Klinsmann grows some damn sense and rests him in the bench against either (or both) China or Singapore in the qualifiers. I want to see Kim Ji Soo play more for the KNT. 💫 Unsere 𝕏𝕀 🆚 @GalatasaraySK! 💫#FCBvGS #packmas #UCL pic.twitter.com/XYoOGFtqXe— FC Bayern München (@FCBayern) November 8, 2023
He got burned badly and allowed Bakambu to score Galatasaray's only goal today...definitely wasn't a good look.
Obviously he is becoming spent like he did last year with Napoli. Dude is currently in a losing situation as far as getting any rest with the atrocious squad planning from the Bayern board. He isn't some terminator with infinite energy. Ngl I'm getting worried that he going to get some injury like VVD did, only to never recover his pace ever again. Hopefully Tuchel understands that CL group record doesn't mean anything now with the CL format changing next year, so he rests KMJ in the next games against Coperhagen and United.
Quoting myself again, because the same applied in today's game. In addition, I do hope he develop his passing skills properly at least after this season, because I believe that is currently holding him back the most. Him misplacing a pass basically lead to conceding the first time this season. Another point that hasn't been mentioned or emphasized is that he is bit reliant on his pace and his positioning has room for improvement. I hope once he truly settles in Germany, he can start working on these aspects.
Im little worried by these mistakes in Bayern. Of course he is not flawless, but you understand. And I thought passing was one of his better skills!?
His long passing is fine, but it is his short passes that needs improvement. At Napoli, he was playing in a set up in which every player needed to defend as a unit with a midfield that was more B2B in their workrate in both attacking and defending. This helped cover up this exact weakness of his, but at Bayern, they put more emphasis on playing out from the back so I'm sure he knows that he needs to work on just that. That is also the reason why Neuer is still so highly valued at the club, besides him being a legend for the club. As long as he doesn't make any further mistakes which could directly lead to the team drawing or losing, he should be ok imo. Again, I would like to see him rested in at least the Singapore game and even get subbed out early against China, because otherwise, he is highly likely to drop a disasterclass after international break, similarly to last year against Milan at home due to fatigue. He is probably going to have to rely on his teammates to bail him out then sadly.
It is not his passing skills. It's his decision making. He should stop passing to players who are already marked by 2+ players. He keeps doing that which leads to conceding/dangerous counterattacks. Many ppl blame it on the fact that he's been getting played too much, but bs. He's done that since the beginning of the season.
To be more specific, I would say his overall decision making on the ball needs improvement. It sure feels like either him or the trainers around him failed to properly concentrate on improving his overall ability on the ball throughout his career (tbf this seems like a problem with at least 90% of Korean players). Fatigue still does indeed affect his overall performance though. Especially if you watched him last year, the 2 or 3 games he did perform badly were around international break. Regardless, let's hope someone actually coaches him properly on his decision making soon.
⏩ Kim Min-Jae has made more forward passes (430) than any other player in Europe's top five leagues this season pic.twitter.com/A4hGFFrTXW— WhoScored.com (@WhoScored) November 13, 2023
On the other hand, he isn't a trepid player who is a sideway pass merchant so that is good. He just needs the right people around him to push him in the right direction to improve and as he did describe himself as a player who likes to push his limits, I have a good feeling that he will get better. Just needs to settle properly into the team, and he will be in a good spot.
This guy is such a damn fraud. Korea coach Jürgen Klinsmann on reports in Germany stating that Kim Min-jae is tired and may need a rest: "Min-jae is always ready to play. No player is tired when he goes into World Cup qualifying. That doesn't exist. When you play in World Cup qualifying, you'd die for that.… pic.twitter.com/HiMp21fg4e— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) November 15, 2023
yeah and if we rest kim and we lose, you guys would be going berserk on klinsmann, i don't understand the hate on him. would you really rather have some korean fraud? because historically after bento it would've been a homegrown manager.
Kim Min-jae was the victim of a robbery while he was moving into his new home in Munich. A thief stole Kim's rice cooker after the player left the item outside to bring in another box. How did he leave it outside? If it was an open box right next to the street that's considered a way to say "it's free to take" here.
