I aint watching. But I saw Zagreb getting 2 goals fast in the second and I just got the feeling " hope its not Kims fault again".
At least he is starting and even getting taken out before 90 min. His decision making still needs to improve, but whooie...9-2 curbstomp. Highest goals scored for a winning team in the CL.
There was one situation where he came up to the midfield to steal the ball and failed and created a huge gap in the back. Was lucky to not have conceded. Upa and other players sprinted back to cover for him. I see this mistake pretty frequently from him.
this worked for him when he was quicker, faster. He’s better than last season but not quite there yet
Nothing to do with his speed. If he fails to take the ball in the midfield and if the opponent counterattacks, there is nothing he can do.
Day late to post, but he seems to be back to his old self of a Serie A winner. Especially since he did so against Leverkusen. He will need rest though, which he will very likely get this time around.
He did is job well today as well, but the rest of the attack and the starting MF simply wasn't on top of their game today.
I see that the fans are complaining about imbalance in tactics from Kompany employing such a high line and even have some of them still criticizing Kim and Upa for not being positionally perfect, but why aren't they focusing more on how the attackers aren't clinical enough? I mean that is the entire reason for the high line tactics: To score as many goals as possible. At least there are people who are acknowleding that Neuer might be past it and high line tactics makes it hard for Kim and Upa alone to defend properly. Kompany will need to make adjustments and start utilizing his subs better.
Another great game from him today. With Palhinha playing today most of the minutes instead of Pavlovic (who got injured few minutes in) we could see that Bayern had more stability in the MF thus more security in the backline. Creativity is sacrificed with Pavlovic's absense, but Bayern can secure wins more convincingly against teams who try to attack on the counter.
He said personality differences but I think he also mentioned that his wife had difficulties bc they moved too frequently in the past, so I bet that's one of the reasons as well. Being homesick is pretty bad.. my wife also used to suffer that.
Not entirely his fault but he def could've done better there. They conceded 1 min after the match started. Intense match so far.
