    Kieran McAnespie and Edgar Bartholemew

According to mlsnet's webcast of Metro-Dallas, someone named "Kieran McAnespie" and "Edgar Bartholemew" are playing for the Metros.

McAnespie is a 23-year old Scottish defender, ex-Fulham, Hearts, Bournemouth:

It looks like Edgar is really Angolan defender Edgar Bartolomeu, who played with the Roughriders, Toronto Lynx and Philadelphia Kixx indoor.

Also: Ivan Iglesias, ex-Gijon, Oviedo, Barca, Rayo?

Will he dedicate his goals to all the girls he's loved before?

Tried out a new left back last night: Kieran McAnespie. 23-year-old Fulham reserve player, and on Scotland’s 1998 World Cup team:

Two other new faces: Ivan Iglesias, 31 year old midfielder from Gijon, Spain, with Rayo Vallecano:

and Edgar Bartolomeu, 26 year old midfielder from Uniondale, NY playing for the LI Rough Riders and indoors for the Philadelphia Kixx.

Edgar Bartolomeu (although he might live in Uniondale, NY, he's actually from Angola, but went to college in Lisbon):

Dan R - Did I just not SEE that information you had posted? Or did you just edit your post to include it??? If the former, then sorry to everyone about posting the same info!

[EDIT - Alright. I see that my posts just got moved to a more appropriate thread, that already had noted the new players. Again - sorry. Too damned early in the morning for me, I guess.]

i saw those new guys play against dallas. both kieran and edgar started...kieran looked decent. he commited the foul for the PK, but i dont think it was a PK. edgar was ok. dont think he can play in this league. ivan was ************ and wont make it.
frederic (the french guy) struggled and couldn't keep up.

should be interesting. they need mathis and moreno bad!

According to MLSnet: The 23-year-old Fulham reserve player, a member of Scotland’s 1998 World Cup team, was making his first appearance for the Metros in the preseason at left back.

According to St. Johnstone supporters' website (
    http://www.grange.demon.co.uk/saints/players.htm):
Was also taken along to France 98 as one of the Scotland squad kit-boys and played (and scored) for the team in a closed-doors bounce match in the USA warmup...

    Would McAnespie be a TI?

Would McAnespie be a Transitional International?
