he'd be imbula's MF partner with whelan and adam getting old. imbula gets forward so ki would likely retain deep role.

Wouldn't mind him in Liverpool, but what are the chances he'll move there?

If Klopp had been there and Ki were like season before last, woulda been perfect fit but now.....

    Perfect fit?

I've never ever seen Ki effective in a gegen-pressing style of play. He wouldn't last one half of football doing that.

I hope clubs don't judge his performance by last season. I'll say this performance season by season goes like this:
2012-13 he was okay, first season in EPL.
2013-14 he was good, helped Sunderland with relegation
2014-15 he was amazing. One of the best MF outside the top 6.
    2015-16 poor.

I could imagine him at Stoke. It just depends on how many playing time he will get under Guidolin. Some saying he will play if he's fit. Other saying Guidolin doesn't rate him much. Anyway I hope he doesn't come back unfit from the militaries.

I would be surprised if any team fielding Ki would even attempt to do the gegenpress, because it is only as strong as its weakest link. Why would Klopp want to have Ki if he would have to forfeit his preferred tactics in order to accommodate him?

klopp doesn't need pressing from Ki. He needs playmakers to launch speedy attacks.

    lol, this thread.

Ki to LFC (even if I am bias) makes a lot of sense. more than quickly launching speedy attacks, we need a mid who is tidy with possession but one who can also launch long diagonal passes from the back.

has more to do with Swansea's short passing & possession game. Klopp on the other hand.. wants to launch the ball from the back to his attacking players often & quickly. gegen-pressing (counter press) & quick one-two/short passing is all on opposition half (of course, the defensive line is high too)

edit - i mean, Ki isn't your ideal Klopp player (probably a better fit with someone like Tuchel) but he won't be out of place either.

Under Klopp's system, the two must co-exist. Which of his playmakers are not involved in pressing?

Regardless, Ki is not fit and agile enough to play in this type of system, and Klopp would be rather silly to employ such tactics while fielding him.

As Takeuchi mentions not been his role and he's shown more than a few glimpses of it.

Would like a coach similar to if not Klopp himself to push him to play that way and a club that pushes him to demand more of himself too.

Highly doubt it because of the political situation in Turkey. Especially with a wife and child, I don't think he'd risk that. (Even if it shouldn't be too dangerous. Koreans tend to overreact).

It's never a good idea to go to a club that makes up fines to manipulate players into leaving the club.

It is clear that the management is lacking in ethical principles.
