Real man does the dishes with his bare hands. What was he thinking pulling on those gloves?

Personally, I don't use gloves when I wash dishes. I need to feel if they're clean or not.

We really do go off on the weirdest tangents when we don't have matches to keep us busy.

Sounds like it's time to buy a new super quiet and hyper efficient Samsung or LG dishwasher for your parents.

I upgraded my parents a couple years ago when they did their kitchen renovation and now it's dishwasher = less water use, more savings and better for the environment... :D

dishwashers are only for useful for the racks that you put dishes on. you can never use them. its a waste of water.

Actually uses less water than dishes by hand, the cleaning is done by the high water temperature making it more effective.

I would give my left arm for a dishwasher.

My dishwasher doesn't get anything clean, unless I use the pot scrubber mode. It is a late model, too. So, hand wash only, for me.

The greatest joy out of moving out of SF was coming back to a dishwasher.

Nice to have by myself, though food tended to become biohazard after a day. With a family, its critical and super environmental.

We actually use the dishwasher from time to time for heavy loads. But you still have to pre-wash the dishes to get them OCD-clean I find. For a single person or a small family it seems sort of wasteful to use on just a couple of plates/bowls/cups.
