If this is true and they waive Badilla then that was the biggest waste of $300,000. As far as Khano coming back, I'll take him over Wells plus we need some entertainment value
With the Khano and Niouky show, led by Man Sally and Presto Burpo, the Razor will be quite the freak show in this MLS Cabaret, ol' chum.
OK, here's an idea. Someone needs to sneak up into the upper decks and put up a big banner that reads "Hit it here Khano!"
I had it capped on my old YouTube account before it got deleted. I've tried to find the game, but it's not in the highlights, so someone would have to get a full capture of the game. I've thought about contacting MLS several times to try and get it, but couldn't bring myself to exert that much effort for Khano.
Damn, I am going to have to pay the "Khano Deductible" on my car insurance again! Oh well. *I'll be here all year folks!!
I don't mind so much about Badilla, infact I kinda expected it but there is nobody out there better than Khano? Serioulsy? I mean I would actually take Talley or Szetela over this slug. This team is on a treadmill to nowhere
To be honest i'm not so much against bringing in Khano. He may not provide much on the field on a regular basis, but I don't ever remember having a bench player that could come in for 10 minutes and completely change the entire game around. Who know's what he provides off the field as well. He seems like a great team-mate and a hard worker and you can't ignore the fact that he was a semi-key player during most of our best years. We will probably pick him up fairly cheap and it will be well worth the addition compared to other player like Szetela.
I don't see this as that bad a thing. Badilla was making $138,000 last year. Khano was making $120,000 last year before he was waived. I'm guessing he signed for a bunch less this time considering his bargaining position. Say $70,000, saving about $70,000 to increase the offer for Perkovic or whatever. At least Khano provides some offensive predictability off the bench. And if it makes Shalrie happy, it's probably money well spent overall. I wanted to see Badilla succeed, but it just didn't seem meant to be. Good luck to him. This move makes me think Castro is expendable, and might be in danger of having been waived had he been healthy (is this how veterans make sure they get guaranteed contracts, being "injured" as the waiving deadline approaches, not saying Castro is faking it). This gives us two bench players who can only really play left midfield, though Khano "could" play some forward and evidently some left back. Castro made like $126,000 last year. Personally, if we were behind in the 75th minute, I'd feel much more optimistic about Khano coming in and pressuring a defense than I would Castro. Likewise, if we were protecting a lead and needed to possess the ball and slow down the game, Castro would be my preference. So, as long as we didn't pay too much, I don't mind the move at all.
Cheap or not, I don't see it as a good. They have Mansally, Castro and an offer for Perovic. All are left sided mids. Khano is a left mid. Why sign another left sided player. Castro sucked when they put him on the right. They are playing most likely a 4-4-2 with Joseph and Niouky or Phelan in the middle so there is no place for Castro or Perovic to play attacking mids in the center. We all know Khano defending is a liability plus they now have Sinovic as a left back that can attack. Honestly, I see no room for Khano
