Just a reminder for SF fans to check out the Quakes v. Fire, at Kezar on Saturday.

    Alright...

The game itself is to be played at:
May 10th @ 7:30PM ET, Cardinal Stadium - Naperville, Illinois... according to MLSnet.com

(That's 4:30PM PDT, for you folks in Rio Linda.)

According to my handy dandy pocket schedule, it's on Fox Sports Net on tape delay at 7pm Saturday.

BUT... is it on the Shootout at Kezar? If so, when are they showing it? Anyone have an answer?

    thanks.

EDIT: According to the ClubQuake Viewing Party thread, they're assuming the game is at 5:30 on the shootout. (That's when they're telling people to be at Brittania Arms.)

At any rate, Kezar said they don't know for sure until game day, when they can look up the listing. So let's check back tomorrow. But if anyone knows for sure, please post.

You mean 7:30 Central time, not Eastern, as Chicago is in CT. And 5:30 PDT for the folks in Eugene.

It was on the Shootout schedule at 5:30 earlier this week, but it seems to have disappeared. My TiVo is still set up to record that channel (796 on DirecTV, I think) just in case, but the program guide doesn't currently show the game on that channel at that time.

However, the DirecTV site says that it is still on live at 5:30.

    1) I edited my previous post with all the info I currently have...

    2) No... I meant what I cut-and-pasted from MLSnet.com.
check out what it says at:
    http://mlsnet.com/games/03/tracker.php?gamename=05102003_SJCHI&version=preview

It says exactly what I said it says. 7:30 ET . Maybe Naperville isn't Chicago. :)
    Hence the confusion.

I had a bad experience last season at Kezar's when they told me they would have the Burn/Fire match that was on the Shootout. When I got there, they figured out they didn't have the PPV matches, only ones on Fox Sports Net affiliates. I'd make sure before assuming they'll show it.

Hopefully we can confirm everything. So far this season Kezar has done a good job and been very hospitable to MLS and US soccer fans. I think there were about two dozen people watching the USA v. Mexico Match yesterday, on the "BIG" screen. So lets keep showing up, and MLS will have a home in SF.

It's only a few blocks away from where I live so I'm gonna show up anyway.

They have definitely purchased the Shootout this year.

OK, I'm getting depressed and tired of looking into this.

I just called Kezar and the nice lady said the best information she has is that they WILL NOT be showing the match at actual gametime. :(

She said it's on Fox at 7, and "MLS" at 7:30. (I can only assume she means the Shootout, but I can't be sure.)

Anyway, I think going there at 5:30 will be no guarantee of seeing the match live.

Sorry for butting in, but all week the game was listed on the actual Shootout channels (the blue screen) at the wrong time, but today it's fixed and reads "8:30 EST" (which is indeed 5:30). The lady at the pub probably doesn't know it.

The Irish ladies at Kezar's are nice as can be (well, sometimes), but dumb as a box of nails.

However, let me sidetrack a little... I've missed not watching the Burn and MLS in general the last year (I moved to SF almost a year ago this month), and while I'm not switching team allegiances anytime soon, I think it would be cool to get together with Quakes and/or MLS fans here in the city that like to a have a few pints during the games. Bonus points for other Premier League fans. Super bonus beats for Liverpool fans.

Shoot me an email if you're feeling it.

    <sigh>
This may be true. But they do try.

If you want to go to the game next weekend, let me know, we might get a SF carpool going. (We would be leaving early -- about 3:30 or so -- to tailgate and make a day of it.)
