Damn. That didn't take long. Wasn't DCU looking at Forlan at one point?

Did they keep Onalfo and Tommy?

I guess I didn't realize that he was hired by TFC before MLSE brought in Leiweke. Can't be too much of a surprise, given that he wasn't hired by the current management and he hadn't done much to this point.

Still, as understandable as that may be, there's got to be some sort of limit. If people are looking for reasons not to fire Olsen, TFC is the case study that just firing people won't solve your problems.

There we go - internet nuts just dragging the man down. Good thing he pays no attention to us.

Hey owners - hint, hint. We've got one that is also good to go (toss in some interns for good measure). Hell - the interns can GM the club in the interim.

Somebody reassure me that there's no way that asshat winds up back at DC United.

You know there is always a chance - especially considering we have Kaspar currently sinking this ship. Until the owners say no or he takes a gig with US Soccer - the door is open.

Article mentions that Lagerway is a leading candidate for TFC. I will not stand for this. He needs to run our squad.

We haven't demosntrated a willingness to pay more than TFC. And unless he's got some kind of personal reason to come here, he's got no other reason to choose DC instead of TFC. Period.

    KP bidness model:
    1. Hire inexperienced coach
    2. Hire players that get zero return on investment
    3. Ensure DP's ride the pine
    4. Watch results plummet or stay the crappy same

My guess is the writer just made that part up. Why would Lagerway want to leave a successful gig and go to the cesspool that is TFC. If it's for the big budget, he has no experience playing that game, he might actually suck at picking players when price is no object.

Well we do have a habit of letting things go to TFC and then trying to get them back...

I dunno. I sort of think that -- despite KP's DCU teams of recent years not having great success -- his contributions to our club should mean he doesn't deserve all this snark at his expense after a significant professional setback.

He was dedicated to the Black-and-Red for a long time, and he was instrumental at putting this club on the American soccer map.

    Just my $.02.
