Hey I remember Meneses played in Brazil at one point, whatever happened to him? Haven't heard much about him. Was he a child to Portugueses immigrants? What team did he play for in Canada? Also, I remember about 3-4 years ago (2000 I think it was) a Canadian played had been signed by Argentine 3rd div. club San Telmo. This might have been a rumor, but back then I didn't have the 'internet' resources to follow it up. Maybe he never signed. I think his name was Pablo something, can't remember what. Menezes played last season in the Chinese second division. He is currently looking for a club. I believe he moved to Brazil when he was 10-years old. The funny thing is when he was still in Brazil he would play ice hockey once a week. I remember the rumour about that guy in Argentina, but I don't know if he was actually there. Carmello Rago (Canadian) is currently with the Puerto Montt team in Chile. I believe he is only 17 years old and he is playing with the reserves. From what I have heard, he might have a good chance to make the first team next season. Manny Gomez was/still is (?) with a youth team in the River Plate organization.
Are Rago and Gomes children of Chilean and Argentine immigrants in Canada by any chance? And how was the weather permitting Meneses to play hockey in Brazil?
Not sure about Rago and Gomes. Believe it or not, but Brazil does have a few ice hockey rinks. Not sure of the actual number, but I do know a few exist in shopping malls. Although the rinks are not big enough for a proper game of hockey.
His name is actually Tony Menezes, rather than "Kevin". As for Rago & Gomez, I believe they are of Chilean & Argentinian heritage, though don't know for sure. Both have played recently for Canadian national youth teams.
