Man, I just heard on ESPN TE Kevin Everett has been diagnosed with "incomplete paralysis" due to a cervical spinal injury during a clashing of helmets in a kick-off. This is the bad side of american football where no matter how much protection they have, players still get injured like this. Hope the guy can walk again and that the surgery went ok. My prayers go out to him and his family. Get well man... I hate to see this sort of stuff happen.
Indeed. They keep trying to make the game safer, and yet we still see things like this happen. There was Darryl Stingley, Mike Utley, Dennis Byrd and scares like Chris Simms having to get his spleen removed after a hit last year. The NFL is like gladiator contests, with thousands of fans cheering the players kill each other. That's why I don't begrudge NFL players their million-dollar salaries. They sacrifice themselves for our entertainment.
Now the doctor saying theyre more than confident he will walk out of the hospital. Great considering the same doctor said the day before he probably would never walk again.
Re: Kevin Everett, TE for Buffalo Bills This thread just kind of died. But this was something interesting I found earlier on Deadspin. http://deadspin.com/sports/uh-oops/there-are-no-words-304799.php Definitely give it a look.
