I am going to do a preemptive post for Crzd who is going to bash Reyes unmercifully for not calling up Salcedo.
(And before him or anyone says he should be called up for the Copa America or whatever he has to register for a one- time switch in order to play for Colombia which usually takes months to get approved.)

Now back to the regularly scheduled thread topic...
... glad Agudelo was a part of the important scoring play.

    Another assist from Aguedelo.

2-0 against Torino. Hope they stay up. Not sure if it’s best for him to come this summer with the NT or have a full preseason to be a full on starter for Spezia next season.

me encontré de casualidad este video y me impactó positivamente el buen nivel de italiano que maneja... sobretodo porque es algo que no conocemos de nuestros jugadores...

We blend well into Italian culture in my eyes. I tend to get along with a lot of Italians myself and I hold fondness for the culture and language. Great seeing us always having a way to settle into Serie A.

This guy still has a ton of talent, once he gets a run of games to keep progressing I think he turns into a great 8. He's got the versatility and skillset to be a really good 8 I think its just a matter of time before he takes some big leaps and gets recognition. Would really like to see him getting into NT call ups because I think the chances he's gonna evolve into a good player for us seems pretty high.

Pretty crazy. This guy is starting almost every match for Spezia this season. And no one really talks about him. Maybe it's because he has next to no end product...

Either way, he got an assist this weekend.

No one really talks him for many reasons. The main reason to me is that he has never really been a part of the youth setup and has never played for the National team in any capacity.

Also, he just seems to be different than other players in our pool which sometimes is good but in his case has been his detriment. He is not really a traditional attacking midfielder. Not really a winger. He is not a traditional 8 or 5.
He is more of a European type of central midfielder which we do not value as much as say Chile or Uruguay.
Maybe Lorenzo can find a use for his talents and his skill set but it will be very telling if he does not get called up again while getting lots of playing time in Italy.

he was never a well known player, even at the local level.

when he got to Italy I believe it took him a while to find a set position and never really found one at the time, I think he spent a while without playing too so naturally I don't think he's ever been consistent enough to be taken seriously unfortunately.

I mean inter was instantly linked to him in his first few months in Italy then he was sent to fiorentina. Hype was high.

issue is all teams he has been at sucked and went through 2-3 manager changes each time which has screwed him over.

we have called him just gave him 0 minutes

This guy deserves a callup. He is very fast and eventhough he is quite short, he is able to use his body to both protect and get the ball back very well.

We dont need him to start for us, but thats a player that we can sub in at some point of the game and will cause a lot of trouble for a tired defense.

He's good on the ball and he's good carrying and passing out of midfield but he's not a guy who's going to score a lot of goals or get a lot of assists and I don't really see him being effective as a 10. He's an 8 for me, good operating deeper in midfield to pick the locks there and help open up the field for people higher up and to carry and pass out of midfield. These are all skills we haven't had, Agudelo and Alzate both have these aspects and we should give them chances to do that.

He's never gonna be a super star in final product, but lots of players have become huge contributors playing deeper in midfield, they Spezia seem to play him a lot in a 3-5-2 in one of the 3 midfield spots behind 2 strikers, seems a good fit for him but its not glamourous.

A midfielder who does not score or assist. Also the opposite of James.
