Washington, D.C. police arrested presumptive Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry yesterday after Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) complained that Mr. Kerry was “stalking” him in an attempt to persuade him to join the Democratic ticket. Police officers apprehended Sen. Kerry as he was shimmying up a drainpipe on the outside of Sen. McCain’s Washington townhouse, attempting to gain access to a second-story window. http://borowitzreport.com/
He's a serial stalker. Now he's stalking Chuck Hagel. I think Kerry will have the same amount of success. Kerry is f'ing up the VP thing. Because of the Dems' early convention, he needs to maximize fundraising before then. Any campaign's 2nd best fundraiser is the VP nominee. He's wasting precious weeks of fundraising, not to mention campaigning. Some are saying this quixotic pursuit of McCain will diminish whomever Kerry chooses. I think that's inside baseball, important only to the Heathers. Of course, the 2000 race showed how the Heathers can define a race and alter the outcome with biased reporting. So on that level, it's something to worry about.
The journos who operate as a pack. You know, McCain is cool, W is dumb, Gore is a liar. In the case of Gore, they repeatedly, um, repeated RNC press releases without evaluating the claims, forcing Gore to play defense. To pick the pluperfect example, remember Bush's phrase "fuzzy numbers"? Bush repeated it even after the debate because he was getting so much traction from it. But the Gore claim that elicited that retort was totally correct, namely, that Bush's Social Security privatization scheme was promising a huge pot of money ($1 trillion, IIRC...granted, this was over a long period of time) to two different areas. But the media had decided that Gore was the liar, not Bush, so Bush could lie with impunity. In fact, Gore could call Bush on a lie, and the media would still attack Gore. Of course, Gore could be stupid with impunity for the opposite reason, but being able to lie with impunity is vastly more valuable in an election. For one thing, it's something you can do on purpose.
However, "Bush is a liar" is NOT, repeat NOT a buzzline which gets repeated despite an absolute paucity of any sort of truth. Yes, poor Al, and poor John - they get a brutal and savage beating from the right wing press, don't they. Shameful, really. Of course, the 80% of journalists who self-identify as Democrats are really lying too. It's just a shame how a democrat can't get a break in the media. What a blind turd you are. What a crapweasel. What a fool. dave, you're just an imbecile spouting stuff you know nothing about. Leave, and don't come back.
