Pernille Harder voted woman's worldwide player of the year https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-in-the-world-2020?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
I didn't even know we had a ladies team in 2015! Womens football is finally taking some shape in England, I am going to start looking out for it a bit more, a big 'well done' to this lady.
Fran Kerby comes up trumps again with the winner against ManU. Chelsea now top the table on goal difference with a game in hand. Arse held by Reading in third place
Kirby is a baller, but Kerr needs to be challenged with a couple of missed starts. She gets in great positions, but she misses soooooo many shots. Beth England is great. Would love to see her get more starts.
Women beat Manchester city 4-2 in quarter final of the continental cup after extra time. They went 1 up but city came back to level and go ahead with 5 minutes left in regular time. Chelsea got it back to 2-2 before scoring twice in extra time
Continental cup semi final today v West Ham. Looking good at half time. The game is on the FA player worldwide
Good shout. Just switched it on and liking the fa player setup. Watching since 55 mins and it's been wave after wave of west ham attacks, cutting right through the midfield. My question is, did jorginho switch to the womens team? PS as I type, they add a 5th, because of course they did.
Yes a strange turn around from the first half when it was women against girls. But this woman's team is a joy to watch. No diving, no disputes just get on with the game.
There were 3 or 4 excellent tackles inside our box that killed an easy attempt on goal and floored the west ham player. At no point did the downed player roll around with a life threatening injury. They got up and got on with it. Certainly there were fouls all over the pitch but none of the neymar histrionics. The more of the ladies side of the game I watch, the more I enjoy it. Also, the game has come on a long way since attending my first womens match in philly (a world cup double header about 18 years back).
Well all good things come to an end, Chelsea loose to Brighton. Big surprise, goalkeeping error worthy of Kepa
It has moved into the vernacular. When a keeper does bad, he has done a 'Kepa'. Total Kepa. What a Kepa.
Watched the second half, classic smash and grab stuff. Not sure what was going on up front but there was a total lack of composure in and around the box. All the possession and never felt like a goal was coming.
Yes, for once Emma was out thought tactically. They came with a plan, frustrated Chelsea and took their chances at set pieces
This might have been a consequence of overconfidence. Cuthbert, Reiten, Fleming, Blundel, even England are all amazing players individually, but swapping them all out at once created stagnation, killed that amazing flow.
Kirby is soooo good, but is Harder even better? This team is so talent rich. I think we might even be better w/o Kerr. Gets in good positions and misses A LOT of shots. England might be better for us in that starting role. Love watching this team. Wish you could get a legit women’s team jersey (not a men’s team kit with a women’s name on it).
