Well after today's awful display from the men the women did much better against Everton winning 3-0. Two penalties by Reiten followed by a cracker from Cuthbert. I was at the bridge I should have been at kingsmedow.
Tough draw for the semi finals of the league cup. Away to Manchester city. At the end of the day we will have to beat them and probably Arsenal to win the cup
Chelsea beat palace 1-0 in FA cup with a full strength side minus James who was pulled prior to kick off
Chelsea trail city 0-1 at half time. Bunny Shaw scored after Cuthbert lost the ball in a press. City pressing well and forcing Chelsea to rush things and loose possession.
And it stays 0-1 despite Chelsea laying siege to the city goal for much of the second half. First loss at home in 34 games
Another excellent result for the women, away to Leicester. US forward Macario makes her debut appearance after 20 months out injured and marks the occasion with a goal. Game ends 0-4 and Chelsea head back to the top of the table.
We need to beat Arsenal and hope that the Arse do us a favour against City and it will be ours to lose........................though I'm not sure we will be beating Arsenal to be honest. Its funny but up until this season I haven't really cared much for womens football, I don't know if its the sorry state of the mens team, the womens national team becoming European Champions and World Cup runners up or just the fact that its suddenly having a 'footprint' in the media that means I'm keeping 'an eye' on it far more than I did.
Chelsea women playing away to AJAX in the champions league. Good solid performance. Chelsea win 0-3 return game at Stamford bridge next Wednesday
I wish the men were even 1/2 as resilient as the ladies! Every time adversity comes their way they bulldoze their way through it, their game at the weekend against Arsenal was the first game they've played for a while where they have been second favourites by some distance but the way they dispatched the gunners was sublime. They've got more bollox than the men that's for sure.
Lol, how many finals can this club lose!! Now the women too! What a record! It's almost unbelievable! We're cursed I tell yer! :-D
Chelsea women get a big day of football off to a great start with a 1-0 away win at Barcelona in the first leg of the champions league semi final. Cuthbert with a cracking shot just before half time. Barcelona fail to register a single shot on target Can the men keep the good times rolling?
It was a really good game. Barcelonas first home defeat in 5 years. second leg next week. Going to miss Emma Hayes
If we get through the next leg we may come up against Emma's replacement who's currently managing Lyon
I think the men are 'done' for the season (like last they're 'downing tools) so I think it's time we concentrated on the Chelsea team that has some balls - our women, I've even contemplated getting myself a ticket for Saturday
Yeah 20 quid, I just gotta find someone to 'mind' the Mrs and I'm gone. For the first time in my life the women's game means more than their male counterparts! :-O The women's game in this country has come out of nowhere! I think that for the first time in history the women's game has gotten a foothold in the world.
Close but Barcelona win out again. I have never rated Buchanan and she gave the ball away and provided the deflection for the first goal and then got herself sent off. Must win the league now. Hopefully now Bright is fit that's the last we will see of Buchanan.
I’m seeing a lot of complaints about the officiating. I guess that’s the norm when you lose, but with how VAR and officiating is going these days, plus Barcelona’s sketch history, it’s hard to blame people.
