He's either been holding out his writing skills before this or he had a ghostwriter, this is the best piece I've seen from him.

I agree wholeheartedly with his theory that goals look better from the camera-side of the field... just look at the quality of the regular highlight programs FSW/FSWesp runs... El Show De La Copa Libertadores / Ganbare J-league / EPL Review / Football Asia / Bundesliga Highlights / MLS ExtraTime, etc... the goals which look the best are often camera side... and the cameras that show GREAT buildups / shots from distance are always from higher vantage points than MLS cameras EVER show.

glad to see that fact in print for once.

A little sad to see that he can't tell Joe Cannon and Scott Garlick apart. He said KC scored on Garlick over the weekend. Small oops. Good points otherwise.

I don't get his beef with 'reverse angle' though. it's not even an NFL thig, it's tv production in general.

If you watched the CL games this week, both matches featured 'reverse angle' cameras. And that's exactly what they called them onscreen.

In summary, Kenny Stern needs a haircut.

wholeheartedly agree. It wasn't bad at all. He had some (dare I say?) interesting quips, and his writing has become much more professional. Pretty soon he'll be good enough to be published in the school newspaper. pretty soon.

And the haircut is kind of growing on me. I'm thinking that if I had one of those, I wouldn't get hassled as much by bums on the CTA. A haircut like that says "Stay away from me wino. I'm worse off than you are... and I spent my last few dollars on a jug of Skol two days ago. You can stab me and take my coat, but I'm so dazed that I won't even care. The only thing you'll get from me is herpes."

    Ah, springtime.
