Interesting getting an unusual brand instead of the elite names (nike, adidas et al) This is the 3rd kit change in as many years--Umbro America declaring bankruptcy (FTR, Atlanta switched to Nike from Umbro). I wasn't able to attend last weekend's match (been busy which accounts for not posting much) but orange might be a good fit for the yeam, though it would be wise to have purple as the primary colour. Or better, have orange for home and purple on the road or vice versa. Cheers!
I'm happy that they aren't following most of the other teams and getting unis from Nike or Adidas. THE Nike kit (you all know which what I'm talking about) for women's teams is too popular now. I'm not sure if it would look right w/ our colors, anyway. The Charge had Diadora last year, right? Carolina had Kappa. Besides us and the Beat, all other teams had Nike (NY, DC) or Adidas (SD, Bos). Does anyone know when Nike plans on coming out with something new? I heard right before this year's World Cup they would unveil the new national team kit, and since WUSA teams use the same design as the nats, I guess that means the WUSA teams that are wearing Nike will keep the same unis for this year. That was a long sentence, and I hope it makes sense! Thanks for that info on the Beat, Nap! I was wondering what they would do once Umbro America announced its bankruptcy. It's cool that we're the only Kelme team. My team uses Kelme, and everything of our's has held up very nicely through all that we've put it through. They have awesome socks, too.
Go to www.USSoccerStore.com and there is a link that will take you to some new USWNT gear. Look at the white shirt. I am guessing the next incarnation of USWNT game jerseys will be very similar. Expect maybe white for home and blue for away. Both the Beat and Freedom used a new set of NIKE practice unis. One stripe down the right side I believe. Hard to tell from the pics though what they really look like.
I saw some better pics of the Beat's practice unis this morning. Not at all impressed. Hopefully it ain't the sign of things to come.
That's a bummer because they could have done something great w/ the Beat's colors. Whatever happened to that sea foam green they had for awhile? I saw the shirt you linked me to, Fear, and it looked plain and not too cool. Then again, you don't want to get flashy, but hopefully they'll spice it up somewhat before the Cup.
well i went to the meet the team thing and they were selling the jerseys, but you actually had to order them and they would ship it to you. the only one that was on display was the away jersey. i was able to take a pic of it cause it was packed in there and i was kinda stuck in the corner next to the merchandise stand. it's not the best pic cause somebody walked in front of me as a took the pic, so you can't see the front of it.
They really are going to look like construction workers. Those look kinda of cheap to me...I don't know. THANK YOU for the picture!! It's a good one, too. You did well, thanks.
$50 without a name, $60 with a name. i forgot to mention this, but i believe there's a star on the left sleeve. i don't think you can see it in the picture though.
it's supposed to orange right? it looks kind of red in the picture but i like it better than the white and black ones they had for the away matches...
i take back what i said about the star being on the left sleeve. it's actually on the right sleeve and you can see it's under the wusa patch.
Does the star represent our 2001 championship, a la the Nats? That'd be cool! We, along with the Courage, are the only teams that could do that. They're growing on me, but I don't dig the white lettering. It looks too UTenn/construction worker, but I guess it's easier to read than purple...?
