In an article previewing Tottenham's upcoming Capital Cup game with DC United, Kasey Keller updates his status for the summer tournaments.

He says he will not participate in the Confederations Cup because he'll follow Wednesday's match with a trip to Birmingham, Alabama, to have bone chips removed from both elbows.

"If all goes well, he'll report to the U.S. squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July."

Is it common for keepers to have bone chips in both elbows that require surgical removal? I wonder that was the cause of that.
