Sheesh, that's 7 so far this year. Are manglement thinking some WC coaches will be available? Over/under on Yo Gotti and Jo Mama getting Leviathan to fire Weiler if we dont move up the table by July 15?
Carnell essentially replicated his St. Louis experience. Good first year, dumpster fire the next. Some other idiot owner will hire him somewhere. Look at Losada, he's tearing up the Cypriot league.
In defense of the man...the first years weren't just "good." St. Louis won the division as an expansion team and haven't done shit since Carnell left. And then Philly won the Shield last year under Carnell after a non-playoff season under Curtin. Philly are exactly last in the league in spending after getting rid of their best players (Baribo; Glesnes; Wagner). They've basically stopped spending money, so not quite sure what expectations should be. 27. Orlando City $13.7M 28. CF Montréal $13.4M 29. Sporting KC $12.4M 30. Philadelphia Union $11.7M
Last night I watched Fluminense play Deportivo La Guaira F.C. for the 2nd spot in their group play of Copa LIbertadores. And lo and behold, there was Lucho for Fluminense doing his thing of running around and pouting. But since that seems to be the norm in Brazilian leagues, he was actually one of the more calm and mature players. Anyways, in the middle of the second half with Flum only one goal up, Lucho takes the ball into the Penalty Area, gets nudged between two defenders and flops to the ground waving his arms at the Ref who just stood there. Since this is so common, all the defenders mimicked Lucho by standing around and waving their arms at the Ref who just stood there. Then Cannobio, a Flum midfielder, nudged the stationary ball into some open space and slotted the ball past the GK for Flum's 3rd goal. Not a the winning goal, but one they needed. All in all, a rather entertaining and typical match.
Funny. I am a bit lazy to look it up, how are his wages down there compared to what he was getting here in the states?
They'll just have him whacked if Jason doesn't want to pay out the rest of his contract. Never sleep on how much Garber hates Levien.
Sounds like I've missed something here. Is this a real thing? Perhaps rooted in the real estate deals around Audi Field?
I've seen too many absurd calls not even VARed, especially the first time Messi didn't show up and Busquets had a fist full of jersey and it didn't even get VARed. The BS with how the stadium was built and forcing later start times becuase of the sun and broadcasting. I don't think Garber would walk across the street to piss on Levien, even if he was on fire.
So, anyone going to any of the U.S. v Paraguay watch parties? DCU has one in Franklin Park but they're having speakers for some reason. I'm going to the Wharf one since you can drink at it (Sip n' Stroll)
Contemplating - always fun to watch in a big crowd (and not to worry, the national guard should be there to protect us from the world! ). I am given to understand that at Franklin DCU STH get complimentary food tics. But, I am not a fan of the all the extra time its gonna take to go to/from Fairfax all the way downtown (probably via metro - why pay for parking?), in the heat, humidity, likely rain storm, when I can be in a sports bar walking distance from my house.... Why dont they sponsor a few watch parties in venues around the region...? Mor elikely to get better participation. But I digress...
I hear you. I want to go with the crowd because i'm bummed I'm not going to any of the U.S. games after planning to for several years. I am going to the Ecuador/Ivory Coast game in Philly. But hoping to get some of the vibe inbthe hot, sticky Wharf tonight. I'm grew up in Fairfax, what's a good sports bar there nowadays?
Good? I dunno anymore. I am getting old so dont get out as much. I am mostly just looking for an enthusiastic crowd - I am okay to suffer through them not being knowledgeable.... I am near Fair Oaks/Fair Lakes, so nearby is Honor Brewing, BDubs, Crafthouse, Ozzie's. At least the food is passable in some of them (not including BDubs in that group but they have lots of TVs and at least one of the bartenders has a heavy hand). I imagine Skiddoos will have a good crowd, though.
