Martin Hutton can be a real key in Saturdays game. He has had a great season. He is a 100% better keeper than he was at this time last year. Nick Gannon has his game peeking. If andy Puatari "is On" Maryland wont find space on their right side. John Dirimando will be hard to shut down attacking from the right flank. SLU wont be intimidated by all of the senior Maryland players...I think this will be a great game.
IMO, the weakness of Maryland's D is at left back with Kenny Bertz, who is somewhat lumbering. SLU ought to send DiRaimando at him time and again. It will either result in an advantage for the Bills directly or force Marland to slide one of their D-mids over to help, thus creating more room in the middle for John and Vedad. If I know this, I'm guessing Doogie and Sorbs know it too. So, I expect to see this happen.
Your correct, if a team doesn't provide help on that side.... then DiaRimando will be very hard to contain. Even when teams "pack-it-in" the kid always makes some space with his quickness. These kids are learning how to find space, hold posession, and create offensive chances with teams that "play". Just look at how easy it was to score against a good UAB team, Furman, Clemson, Virginia all played soccer and SLU got chances against all of those teams. When teams put 8 or 9 players behind the ball it has been more difficult for the young guys to break that down....but...they are learning. You are also right-on about the Bills recognizing that if they can open up some space for Vidad they will have a very good chance.
What's the weather forecast there, snow? Will it be a frozen pitch or a muddy one.? This could matter IMO.
