    Kev knows that they can never crack the top 4. Then he see's teams like man city ,tottenham and portsmouth putting together powerful squads and he knows that its a hopeless cause.
    He has never won anything at top club level and wont this time either. It will be a miracle if they crack the top 7.

    Keegan only had some success at Newcastle when they were spending money like water. Now they're having to be financially realistic he's got no chance. Was only a matter of time before he threw in the towel.

    Be fair, this time at least he has good reasons for quitting. Ask Harry Redknapp or Alan Curbishley if a manager should continue working at a club if they no longer have any control over transfer policy.

    Keegan actually lasted longer than Curbishley, who had exactly the same problem on transfer deadline day.
