I'll mess around with it over the next day or two. On side A, I think that the "blue army" part may go smaller, and the cobalt bar might get bumped in thickness a bit. A "1996" might get put in there as well, like on side C. I'll take a look at a drop shadow effect, but I'm thinking that it might too cluttered to read. When I was designing it, and I turned the 08/09 sideways and I also thought it said 60/80, but then I figured that's just how 08/09 looks upside down (no matter the font), so I'm not too worried about it. I tried "2008-09" and it just doesn't look as good.
Just pulled out two of these for a short reminder.. This isn't being printed, it's being knit. As much as I love the drop shadow effect, it won't translate well into a scarf. Likewise (possibly) with the fine lines in the Supporters Shield/USOC on B and most gothic fonts. Here's the colors that we can choose from. The thing about these scarves is that they have an effective resolution of somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 pixels per inch, where each pixel is a stitch.
Thanks, John... I was just kicking around some of the same concerns this morning. Now we can shift the color discussion from RGB & CMYK numbers to actually picking a color that will be available to us. Also... While I really like design A, I worry about how well the flames/fire inside the "U" will translate to the low-res scarf version.
My guess is we'll be fine. If you look at some of the sample scarves they have created, several have quite a bit of smaller detail (more than we are planning) and they appear to come out fine: https://www.sportsscarf.com/Merchan...Store_Code=A&Category_Code=CLUB#CLUB_ACMilan2
Also of possible interest to you scarf designers out there: On the Custom Scarves page, in the box on the right side is a link to available fonts and also a link to download an Adobe Illustrator design template. (The .pdf template is kind of cheesy, but it at least gets you the proper aspect ratio. Maybe the Illustrator version is better?)
I grabbed the Illustrator file (which looks the same as the PDF) and converted it to a photoshop file, so my mock ups should be proportional. If the crew decides to use my design, I'll just rasterize all my fonts to "images" and there shouldn't be a problem. I should probably email them and see if they have PMS colors that are close to the team colors. I'll do that sometime today.
Here is a scarf design much like KCRules 3rd one: The second side is really just toying with the Blue Army = Russian Red Army idea. I was told that is the Cyrillic "Kansas City" and I modified the "hammer & sickel" into a "KC" - I was just having fun.
Yes, for the most part. I will work with Sabotage to finalize the design. Hopefully, we will bet the order sent soon.
The scarves were going to be too expensive, so we're going with blue ascotts. They should be about $7. We're really going to make a statement with our "supporter attire" this year.
i like the first two from the second post on the first page, but i'd be more likely to buy the "kansas city" one just to represent when i'm in other cities. that said, i don't wear scarves. i also like the cyrillic one because i'm a commie, but i would double-check to make sure that's correct spelling. here's another KC hammer & sickle that i like better:
Yes, that's correct. Order should be placed by the end of the week. We will keep everyone posted on the status.
Wait a sec, did you guys take orders, or are you simply buying in bulk and then selling them at the games?
There should be plenty. Check back here in early to mid March, by then we should have them online for advance purchase & delivery for our out of town fans.
