http://www.kansascity.com/sports/wizards/story/249438.html Pete Grathoff's soccer notebook:Could Wizards spend 2008 at T-Bones’ home? Talks temp stadium, mentions new stadium. Galaxy. Atlas. SuperLiga. TFC Forward. Footy in St.Louis. and some extras. ---- I'll say it again, I really hope we aren't playing at CAB. Just one season ticket holder's opinion.
Yeah, says it's not the front runner ... then you see comment about an employee said it was and the comment by Muntean, where he has to add an "if" to the statement. Lot of TIF articles for sure. Big profit margins for some TIF projects raise questions about taxpayer support KC is still awaiting true TIF reforms Funkhouser hopes report provides TIF policy
Very true....keep us in the dark for a while longer. Sounds like we may be hearing alot of new info around the time of the LA game though....can't wait! It's a good idea to introduce where we plan on playing and talking about season tickets with a huge crowd of curious newbies in the house. Let eveybody know that seats are going to be at a premium at the temp stadium and get our STH base to grow before next season. Hopefully we can whip the Gals and get a bunch of new people interested in the team.
Might be on the low end, but.....yeah! I think (hope) we might actually see a rendering of the Bannister stadium site that is submitted to the TIF committee next week if we are lucky. I think the Star mentioned Sept 5 as a possible date we might see it publicized.
Another season ticket holder's opinion. It's not ideal to me, yet better than playing at a high school. I really wish it was closer to Eastern KC, but it's a more professional enviroment than non-Arrowhead options, tailgate friendly, better concessions/restrooms, and even has a little bit of a roof. I like the easy access from some Latino-heavy parts of the city, it cuts the drive in half from a sizeable college town like Lawrence, and is still close for a large chunk of the traditional Johnson County fans. Many of those said fans make up the T-Bones audience right now, and lots have tried the park with good reviews. It will be far from Lee's Summit/Blue Springs/Raytown, but with the smaller capacity, and temporary arrangement, I hope it won't be as much of a problem. They were going to have an increased drive as well for CBAC. My drive from the Rivermarket will increase to about 25 minutes in traffic, but that's pretty doable. If they could play big games at Arrowhead somehow (Beckham, international friendly?), that would be ideal to me as it would give those Eastern KC fans a couple of easy dates to circle.
Just popping in from the ether, whats the status on any stadium? Anything even remotely being considered?
He may have been wondering the same thing I was. Not the temporary stadium, but a new stadium. Since I'm not up there, I've lost track of what the status is of getting a stadium built. And why they can't keep playing in Arrowhead. I know that some remodeling was going to be done. I thought that was already in the works. If there's a catchall thread for that info, apologies, and point the way. Otherwise, my questions are: 1. Status of getting a new stadium built? 2. Why the need for playing away from Arrowhead?
1. Well the article says that they're looking to start with a stadium before the 27th game against the Beckhams Or try reading through the last few pages of this catch all stadium thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=551202 2. Renovations, last year Jackson County passed a tax increase to renovation the TSC so Arrowhead will be undergoing renovations next season. You can see what they're going to be doing to the stadium here: http://www.kcchiefs.com/newarrowhead/
