KC players to Minnesota

how are you guys going to play a season with only 12 players?

nothing on Friedland, and Brunt was a little used sub who - as a defender - didnt do a very good job defending.

 

I didn't even know that we had gotten ride of Brunt, when did that happen?

 

my thoughts exactly. they didnt even announce that we'd released him. interesting. oh well, he wasnt all that good anyway.

 

i saw Wolde and Brunt at Sunfesh on Saturday. he was wearing a wizards jacket at the time, but i guess this could have just happened.

who knows. hopefully we will get this info tomorrow.

 

I've been e-mailing with Curt Johnson about this, and he says that Brunt is still on the team.

Also, the black defender at First Look was Brian Roberts, a senior at Yale.

Could just be like what they did with Goode sometimes...they knew they wern't going to play him so they loan him to an A-League club until a few people go down and they might have to use him.

 

Good for Kevin!! I am glad that he will still be involved in soccer. I have been a fan of the Minnesota Thunder or a year or two. That is really neat and I hope I will be able to make it to a game or two. I hope he improves and one day makes it back to the MLS!!!

 

I think it would be great for both players.

Kevin didn't see the field here last season. A good guy who could become a good player.

Brunt would work here if we used four in the back all the time. He is good as the outside defender who can push up the field. He scored a goal doing just that last season.

IMHO if the Wizards want to tighten up their defense, they should go four in the back. We don't have the kind of athletes to cover the ground with only three. And we don't have the kind of defensive mid necessary to be a stopper in the gaps for the back three.

maybe he is just going throgh pre-season with us cause we are missing so many players? i dont know.

 

CJ's exact words to me were: "Chris is in contention for either a developmental or full roster spot."

 

Developmental players are paid half of the league minimum, and don't count against the salary cap.

Theoretically, he could play a few games with the Thunder if he were either on the regular roster or developmental roster.

 

I talked to a couple of the players yesterday and they said it looks like Chris is going to be playing in Minnesota. They also confirmed that Armstrong is out for a bit. He had a hernia but should be back in april.
