The "Onalfo/Garcia Freedom of Speech Fund" jar will be at the Embassy tonight for the watch party.

God I hope my club teams practice doesn't last as long as it did last time, I don't want to miss any of this one (yes, I have DVR, but theres just something about seeing it live thats so much better). I also hope I don't get put with the crappy defense again and get lit up for another 5 goals...

..and they both are the worst two defenses in MLS by far. There should be some scoring.

I'd blame style more than lack of talent for more of the porous nature of the team D stat, but they are statistically bad.

Brian Hall should keep the match fair. Also NE has 3 games in between now and coming to KC to close the home/away series with KC. At some point Nicol will have to sit some first choice people. Let's hope he does it against KC.

I think considering we upgraded keeper, but pretty much stayed the same in the back the rest of the way, it's gotta be the style that Onalfo for the Wizards. I don't know enough about NE to say it's the same for them, but I'd assume it's the same. It's a bit surprising when they have Reis and Parkhurst in back

The player introductions were HILARIOUS! :D

    James P Conrad
Kevin El Gato Hartman (with a great Latin accent)
Nick "can we get on ESPN a little more?" Garcia
Kerry "I scored the Goal of the Week" Zavagnin

    and my absolute favorite...

    "Victor Sashorine!"

    :D :D

finally a card. looks like the scouting report on KC is to play tough. Marinelli didnt deserve his card, but good to see the ref taking control of some of the garbge cheap shots that were going on.

Revs are looking like we used to as far as finishing goes... kinda scary the number of open looks they've had, but credit Hartman for some great saves.

Great shot by Marinelli - he is having a very good game today (fricking amazing he gets a card for getting kicked in the chest from behind)... Johnson isn't having a great game so far but he is being aggressive and that's what's important. Arnaud and Harrington have been solid as well... Jewsbury has had a little trouble but his shot makes up for that ;). Burciaga was a bit iffy at the beginning too but settled down shortly after that.

For the most part it's a pretty even game - they've had the better of the looks but I like our build-up better... If this game continues to go scoreless into the later parts of the second half... I feel pretty good about our chances.

Interested to see when we make any changes. Might see Yura in for Victorine, depending on how much that shot affected him (was worried it was his collar bone - similar placement to where he got elbowed).

    Here's to a good second half ;)

Eddie is sucking tonight - no runs, horrible passing, letting defensemen cut him off.

Why, oh why, does this team - as a whole - suck ass whenever we actually get to play on ABC/ESPN/espn2?

And our corners are crap, too.

Damn Kerry, head over the ball...head over the ball...

We almost look like we're sleepwalking in the offensive end...not too much going on...

Credit to NE for good D, but we're sending soft &/or bad passes, not having enough movement off the ball...argh...

    ********.

It looks like the team started their 17 day break early. :(

And it's two hours of my life that I wont get back.

Seriously, this was a shameful display. We can't blame this espn2 appearance crap on Bunker Bob or DC United's neutral ice trap.

If I'm John Skipper, I may never put KC on espn2 ever again.

C'mon, it wasn't that bad. Second half was pretty poor but the first half was definitely decent. NE played a good game, now we'll just have to get some revenge when they come back here.

To be fair, we were pretty good the first half, then it all fell apart in the second.

We have to be setting some kind of futility record on corner kicks, especially for a team that's near the top in goal scoring.

That said, our midfield was turnover central tonight. I have been slow to criticize Marinelli, but this is the second game in a row that he has given the ball away far too often and easily.

I'd also like to see Hartman stay on his line a little more often. Maybe if he could make some more clean catches instead of just wildly punching the ball away every time.

    was a fun game.
too bad eddie johnson had his head somewhere else.
man of the match defenetly Carlo Smith...
Joseph should have been sent off....he shoulda got another yellow when he entered from behind on marinell beginnin of 2nd half.
harrington dont seem to be pushin on that left flank anymore....

i dont think corners are that crap.....but u only have Conrad who is really good in the air.
johnson is not very good in the air....Yura doesn't even try jumpin....
basically the only 2 guys who can get a winning header are Cornrad and Victorine......not good enough.
u need at least 4-5 people in the box who are able to head it in.
