We're in the playoffs where anything can happen! I'm not going to say I like our chances against LA (or any team for that matter) but I think we have proven that we can beat them at home and give them a game on the road. They are our rivals so this series should be very heated. This is our third series against LA in the playoffs in 7 years, each team taking one so far. I'm pumped and ready, and most importantly optomistic. Come on you Wiz! PS-Anyone know of a webcast for Wednesday's game? I'm in Rolla, so no MetroSports and I don't have Shootout.
This series should go 3 games. Historically they play 1 goal games regardless of record. KC's two ways of winning this series are to find a way to win (May '97 the last time it happened) or get two road ties and win your home game. To beat LA in the Rose Bowl will probably require three goals. LA is coming off two highly emotional games v SJ. They looked the better side only in the second half of the game in SJ. KC's lineup last game: 3-5-2 Tony Meola, Nick Garcia, Carey Talley, Peter Vermes, Chris Klein, Kerry Zavagnin, Stephen Armstrong, Eric Quill, Preki (Matt McKeon 99), Dario Fabbro (Chris Brown 46), Igor Simutenkov (Mike Burns 83) LA's lineup last game: 4-4-2 Kevin Hartman, Tyrone Marshall, Ezra Hendrickson, Alexi Lalas, Danny Califf, Sasha Victorine (Adam Frye 88), Mauricio Cienfuegos (Brian Mullan 61), Simon Elliott, Cobi Jones, Chris Albright, Carlos Ruiz Add Gutierrez to KC and you should have Wed's starters. I believe this comes down to KC's finishing. Klein has been able to run and find space, even against speed. Preki is Preki and will find him. Fabbro and Igor have been largely silent of late. If they cannot raise their game it will up to Brown to contribute off the bench. Both teams are similarly made with the difference being LA's (read:Ruiz') ability to nip the winner at crunch time.
Ben, try ESPN Radio 1110 AM. The front page says "Radio Broadcasts", but am not sure about webcasts. There's a link to listening to live streams, so it might be possible.
rokstedy: I have been there, but I don't see where you can listen live. I see where they have a listing of what shows they air, but don't see where I can click to get an internet feed.
The way Igor and Dario have been playing, here's my starting eleven for the Wizards. Meola Talley - Garcia - Vermes - Gutierrez Klein - Armstrong - Preki - Quill Simutenkov - Brown
Ben, I can turn on my webcam again through Yahoo...it seemed to work well for about 5 viewers Friday.
Just to make sure that Metrosports will be covering this game, I emailed them and got a positive response. The match will be shown live on Wednesday. Watch parties?
I'll call Molloy Bros. right now to make sure they don't have an act that night (would be strange for a Wed.)
an FYI-the Galaxy playoff game Wednesday will be broadcast on Radio Disney 710AM in LA. They may have internet audio. I am not certain of that though.
Lalas confident, lippy "It's the most competitive in the league's history," Lalas says. "Everybody was jostling over who they were going to play in the playoffs, but to me (Kansas City) was the lesser of seven evils."
