Colorado here we come, got a nice group of us going to Colorado for this game, hopefully it turns out better then our last roadtrips the last 2 seasons, where all we've managed is a tie. According to the Rapids pregame thread, Henderson is being inducted into their hall of fame type thing. Marinelli looks like he's out, but maybe Sealy will make his return. Colorado's home form hasn't been great so far this season, their only win at home was their first game against DC.
Also a possibility that Jimmy returns. I think he finds out on Wednesday. We are now in a stretch were we play teams at the top of the Divisions... Colorado in first in West, then NE who's in first in east then back to back games vs 3rd place MetroBulls ... The team needs to show that our 12 points are because we are good and not because we got all 12 points from the 3 worst teams in the East(who I think have 14 points combined). Our 2 games against... better than bottom half teams have yielded 1 goal losses. So, imo, these next 4 games are important.
GRRR!! I wish I could go on the Roadtrip! Stupid work! If only it was two weeks later so I would have time off. I hope there is at least one more Roadtrip this season
just take off. i hope this game we pick it back up. sealy! ahhh, he needs to play for somebody up there. yura did not have his best game but neither did davy or ej. something needs to be done. we need to finish. ugh.
Davy didn't have a good game? I realize you specifically said "his best game" but it makes it sound like you were dissapointed in Davy's play. I'd have to disagree. The assist in-and-of itself was pretty damn good. He also worked his ass off (like he always does), and personally I don't think it was a particularly bad game from him at all. I won't get into the whole Yura debate. If you want my views check post game Still, what I like about Sealy is that he follows up attacks. He does get a lot of goals off rebounds and whatnot, but that's because he's generally there making a secondary run... this is something that not everyone does - all too often I see someone break on goal, take a shot which is mishandled but there's nobody there to capitalize. But we do definitely need some help up top. I hope that the FO will make some moves mid season to accomplish this, b/c right now it's painfully obvious that we are lacking in this dept. due to injuries. I do feel Yura could be up-to-snuff in the latter part of the season, but he still needs time. I'm hoping that Onalfo will have the team ready to go after such a poor start last week. If we can play 90 like we played the last 45 from last week's game, we can win regardless of who's up top.
Onalfo doesn't strike me as the type of guy to let them forget about the Dallas game. There are some good quotes about it from a few players and Onalfo in this story. http://kc.wizards.mlsnet.com/news/t...nt_id=93292&vkey=news_kcw&fext=.jsp&team=t105
I have a good idea - why don't all of you who are going find a way to sneak in some speakers and an amplifier (ok, and a generator for power) and hook it all up to a cell phone which will be connected to a speaker phone at wherever the watch party is (is there a watch party somewhere?) and then it'll be like the rest of us are there too... well, with the 2 second delay that would probably accompany it, but still...
There should be a watch party at both 810 Zones and I imagine bc it's an HDNet game, even with a bunch of us in Colorado should be fairly well attended. The Plaza 810 Zone should have a sideroom reserved for us, but hopefully a FO person can confirm.
This is the inconsistency I'm talking about. I guarantee Wizards fans will be showing up to the Plaza 810 Zone and be pissed when the game is not on. Then, they'll miss half the game trying to get somewhere that is showing it, making sure they're less likely to ever come to a Watch Party again.
I agree with Sza, this is consistentally crappy. Every away game I say, Hey, It would be cool to go to the Plaza and disturb the peace and EVERY week no one comes or it gets moved to Coach's or Leawood 810 or some pub in Lawrence or some horribly inexcessable place. The Plaza 810 Zone is downtown and therefore CENTRAL making it easier for the MISSOURI fans to get out and enjoy the game with fellow fans instead of having to catch glimpses of the game from MLSnet.com and reading about it on bigsoccer. FO, Caludron leadership, WTF?
really? it's easier for me to make it out to Leawood just because I can do highway basically all the way there.
Good. The Watch Parties and the Jimmy Conrad Show on Wednesdays should be the highest priority for the Cauldron. These events are our best chance to meet new people and show KC we have the best fans in the city. The lack of people at these events is more the FO and 810Zone's fault than ours, but we should be able to do a lot more than a website update to ensure consistent turnout from us every week. I don't care if it's Leawood, the Plaza, or both, but if the Cauldron has 250 people on gameday - we should be able to get 20-30 consistently there for both the JC show and the Watch Parties by ourselves. Do we even have the contact info for most of the people who come to our section regularly?
yes, most (if not all) of the Cauldron regulars have signed up with the Cauldron web site and are on our mailing list. This allows us to send out e-mail blasts and news letters with updated Cauldron activity information.
Well, assuming you're talking about more than the people who post on BS or the KCCauldron forums regularly, they must be tuning us out. There are a lot of people who attended 5+ games last year who I've never seen post on either board or show up to a community event. I try to support many events on a regular basis, and try to keep current with all the team news and events. I still probably won't see a bulletin posted on kccauldron.com in time for me to be able to change my schedule around it. The emails and web bulletins are good things, but there needs to be a different or additional approach because this isn't working. Oh, by the way, Wizards 2, Rapids 0.
It might be a good idea to pull out a contact list again and have people sign up if they are interested in getting Cauldron info... 1-0 Wizards
I see 72 people signed up as registered users on the website. My guess would be that half probably don't visit it more than once a week or have 5 posts to their name. 72 doesn't even seem close to the amount of people that regularly join us throughout the season on gameday.
That probably would be a good idea. I think though there are a lot of people who join us in the section who don't come to the tailgates. I think we'll be talking to a lot of people we know already, though there are always some newbs who find us out there. Maybe just a sign that's held up in game with John yelling at our group with the megaphone. Every Wednesday. 6:00. The Jimmy Conrad show. 810 Zone on the Plaza. We need the Cauldron to rock the bitch. kccauldron.com for more info. We say this at every game and tell them about the watch party if we're on the road next week. If we can get a consistent group of "regulars" at every one, when the less regular show up, they won't be alone or feel like there was false advertising. Unfortunately, with us being on the road this week, there's no chance to hype the next JC show in person. We need to get the "regulars" out en masse for the next show and start supporting this right. Oh, and I changed my mind. 3-0 Wizards. My optimistic guess is Sealy's back, Conrad's back. Marinelli is out.
"Signed up for the message board" is not necessarily the same as "give us your email to be added to the list"...
