I just saw that Bia will move off SEI and could be available to play which super exciting. Utah has several players I’m unfamiliar with so I’m interested to see this match up.

If anyone wants my red lot parking pass let me know. I am going to try parking downtown at my office and taking the shuttle bus just to see how that goes.

Solid game, great to see Bia back on the pitch. Now get a week off to rest and increase fitness for Bia and Mace.

First game back after the international break where the Current had a bunch of players traveling. Can they keep the momentum going from the first three game? Interested to see the starting 11 and who makes the bench.

Well I made the smart decision to go to sleep at halftime, with the score 2-0 Current. The team looked great in the first half. How did Bia play in the second half? Only downside was Cooper’s injury. Hope it isn’t anything more serious than a bad sprain.

Yes, the 2nd half action slowed down significantly. Debinha is back for sure with the confidence and flair that was missing last year. Cooper’s injury looked like a pretty significant ankle roll. We have the depth so I’d be surprised if she’s not rehabbing and recovering for a few weeks. Bia looked good in the 2nd, showed some speed and a deft touch, still needs some time to fit in seamlessly though. This was by far the quietest game from Temwa, rookie Trinity Armstrong (and the rest of the SD defense) did nice job on her. Also our defense did a nice job containing Cascarino who is one of my fav non-KC players in the league. She still looked dangerous, but no goals are assists from her is pretty huge. Also, I think Lorena is the best goalie in the league…

Glad to see that Daniel Sperry is reporting that Michelle Cooper is day-to-day and the injury is not as bad as feared. I think the Current should definitely rest her this weekend and give her more time to completely heal. No reason to rush her return.

Yes I’m so glad Cooper’s injury isn’t as bad as initially thought. We have the depth to rest her for a week or two to let it fully heal. I’m actually more worried about the Alana Cook injury as I’m not as confident in our depth in central defense. Looking forward to the game though!

The Current are really on a roll. High energy and very organized. So much depth, the biggest challenge for Vlatko is keeping everyone happy with their playing time. Game was never in doubt. Let’s see how long the win streak can last. Two road games coming up.

Shocking how the Current collapsed on defense at the end of the game. Until then the team looked good. Missing starters in the back never helps but it shouldn’t have happened. Hopefully lesson learned.

Well the Seattle game was disappointing. Very little bite in the attack. Maybe our vaunted depth isn’t as great as we thought. Need more creativity to break down a defense that shuts off the over-the-top long pass. Hope some home pitch energy helps next weekend.

Fun and well played game. Basically a first choice lineup minus Cooper. Mace was a welcome addition in the back line and she played very well. When the Current forward line of Debinha, Bia and Chawinga are all cooking, that is by far the best attack in the league (if not all off women’s soccer). Friday night in Orlando should be quite a game.

To me the match was boring. KC was in such control and BAY was incapable of playing even basic defense. I did think it was nice of KC to take their collective feet off the gas in the second half.
I will admit that the stupid and inane announcers they had trying to ruin the match almost succeeded. Those two seemed to really love themselves as the match had actual soccer being called for little more that 10-15 minutes. Most of the time all they talked about was themselves and a LOT of history, and not even interesting history.

I also get tired of the nonstop talk by the announcers about non match related stuff. Jill Lloyden is especially long winded.

Statement win against Orlando tempered only by the injuries. Hopefully none are long term (Cook’s may be serious), and next week in Chicago is a good chance to rest the injured players. The Current’s depth should be enough against the bottom team in the league.

Cook is done for the year, Debinha until after the summer. Chawinga will likely be out for this game. Will take any win, and get to the international break without any more injuries.

Wish granted, with Chawinga starting and looking great. So long as her and Bia stay healthy, the Current can weather Debinha being out until August. Hope Lo gets her cap with the USWNT.

Lo gets her first international cap (congratulation to her) and Cooper was very impressive on Saturday against China. We will see if Hutton gets in on Tuesday.

Lo, Cooper and Hutton on the field at the same time against Jamaica last night. That was fun to watch and quite an honor for the Current. Well done ladies!

While the Current keep winning, their pattern of great first halves followed by second half struggles is starting to get concerning. Hopefully a home game next Saturday will help.
