Did it have to be the American Gazza that scores the 90th minute game winner? Ugh.

What's up with only 4,907 at Invesco to witness our continued sucking?

well it was raining there. And thing is, there were a few Wizards fans in attendence as well, they showed a shot of them at halftime, right behind the bench area.

Both teams had their chances, Beckerman missed 2-3 chances himself that he should have put away. God that goal was gut wrenching especially since it came from Cleetus. :(

they're competing in the entertainment industry, and both teams are boring entertainment

I have this feeling "in mah bellie" that we have no alternatives...GO TO THE BENCH...for new starters? Doesn't make sense to distrupt something that's going good....but maybe Will John, Yuri, Raybould....SOMEthing has to change! It's embarrassing to go home after these and relate to my non-soccer family constituents why I'm a Wizards fan.
Ugh.....P-L-E-A-S-E, Bob....do you have the "secret" to all this? Would new owners "announcing", and a certian county "announcing", and a little welcoming bash, and......help ANYthing?

Nothing too magic about it, but his "curl" that took him out, and then INTO the box for the "dish" was more imagination that WE have had. Give me the Miklso "run-em-over", or the Preki "out-juke-em", ANYthing but overhead hope passes and errant passing in the last 1/3...etc, etc, etc....
    I've about HAD it.

Ok... I didn't see the match, but only one shot on goal? You've got to be kidding me!

Was our offense that anemic again tonight?

Well at least we've broken our "only score 1 goal per game" streak...

    :(

for those who couldn't catch the game, it was awful. beckerman completely whiffed on a sitter from about three inches in the most embarrassing play in mls history after onstad's flailing at the ball and knocking it into his own goal. [note, i'm ignoring bo's own-bike here due to the controversy from that last thread]. so it should have been 2-0. both teams had a few other chances, but you would have thought it was 120 degrees out there or something. bob somehow managed to creatively find another poor lineup and poor sub moves. garcia let mathis run behind him for a sitter in extra time to end the game. the entire team looked below average at best, certain players worse than that. nobody's fault but bob's though - you can't expect bad players to play well ... you just have to bench/cut them. he seems to enjoy watching bad players though or else he wouldn't keep sticking them out there. at some point his costanza instincts would say, "Do the opposite" of what your brain tells you.

Ok... just watched my Tivo of the game to see the goal at the end...

In his two games back from Germany, Jimmy Conrad has been at least partially (read: really) responsible for for three goals and has received a red card. Nick Garcia has been partially responsible for a bunch lately also.

What the hell is wrong with this team, and those two in particular.

Actually not that anemic, but at times it looked bad, we had chances, Scrappy hit the cross bar, Zotinca forced Cannon into a good save and Eddie put a shot just wide. Then Zotinca missed a glorious chance he should have buried, he was played in, beat Cannon, but shot into the side netting, true he was at around the corner of the six and a bit off balance, but if he puts that on goal it's in.

The problem is Bob is to easy on guys. He always has rose colored glasses on. To much, it is ok we will get them nextime, mickeymouse BS. DB time to step up and show some emotion and light a fire under this team. Or a supersized bottle of KY so everyone on the team can pull the head out of there ass.

Obviously we need a new logo. That should fix things.

Can we trade EJ for Ching? ;)

i find it hard to blame nick too much, he should have had clint marked better but...he has been working his arse off while no one else has been.

i didnt see the la match so i dont know about jimmy being resposnsable for goals in that match but i dont think he was responsable for this one it looked like he was out of position and got back and tried to break the play up by sliding in and the guy got off a good cross once jimmy hydroplaned past him, oh and shavar was too far out to get back and help break it up as well.

I believe it was Mullan who scored on a very similar empty goal earlier in the day. Oh except his was a much harder angle. It's an open net, gotta bury it. The end.

See the bolded text. Jimmy is a great player but he has not been himself since the WC. No one has and it is driving me batsh!t crazy. On paper this team should be competing for the Supporters' Shield, this is unbearable. And 4907?! Wow I know Colorado has their issues with support but holy crap. There have been seven games this year under 8000, and Colorado has four of them, but this was the only game under 6000. That is a reflction of a) the weather and b) our ever diminishing hopes of making the playoffs, IMO. Not to get of topic, but I will echo the other thread and say maybe it is time to send out feelers for another coach. I HATE myself for saying that, btw and I hope this team can turn it around for BG's sake.

    1) he was out of position because he followed a man (Beckerman?) too far out in the first place
    2) he then was lazy/slow when he began his run back into position
    3) because of 1 and 2 he was late and out of position in tracking Beckerman on the run into the box
    4) he made a HUGE mistake in leaving his feet, rendering him useless to help stop the cross. that's just a bush-league mistake.

Nick should have marked better on the back post, and in any other situation I would have been really upset with him for that piss-poor marking job, but because Jimmy made mistake after mistake before the pass to Mathis, this goal is on Jimmy.

He said at halftime we had a good first half. Sure, we had a couple opportunities later on the half, Watson hit a post on a set piece, and started to put things together, but for the first 30 minutes of the game couldn't complete 2 passes - I mean completely played off the field. Luckily Colorado started to match our stellar form and gave the ball back just as cheaply at times.

I thought the forwards were not nearly the problem today as those providing them service. Sasha's the only player outside of Josh Wolff that can put a pass within 5 feet of its intended target under any sort of pressure.

I think Bo touched the ball out of the way with his foot rather than Beckerman completely whiffing. I couldn't tell for sure but it looked like he got some of it. He came up with a great save before that too. You have to give it to him for that one.

That or his attempt to get a foot on it completely threw Beckerman off.

Except in Chicago on July 4th, where Nick had his best game of the season.

Props to the KC fans who went and made up half the crowd and three quarters of the noise at Invesco. You got quite a bit of HDNET time. I'm assuming that's Ice Kaiser and company?

Five game slide. I seriously can't believe this. What a horrible mid-season. Hopefully when Burcaiga and Victorine are back they can show the boys what's up. I just don't even know what to think about this team anymore, we had such a great start and everything was looking great and then in 11 games we piss it all away. We look horrible right now. Absolutely horrible.
