Usual disclaimer...no flaming, just a different POV of our fans, players, coach, and the game. Props to the tavelling Cauldron, you were definitely noticed! KC is on a 2 game losing streak, and I really don't think they're as good as their record indicates. Thank-you Roger Espinoza...dumbass Wiz played like shit besides their really cool run at ball like crazy strategy. Fire played well enough to beat a shite 10 man team. That was basically two different 45 minute games. First 45 was completely dominated by KC and we were lucky not to be down by more than one by halftime. Heads-up play by Nyarko to capitalize on Kamara's stupidity (juggling the ball in front of your own goal?) Nice showing by the traveling supporters from KC...(a lot of folks with Wiz on their shirts)... Took a penalty and a horrible play by Kamara to win at home, but hey I'll take it. It was good to see the traveling KC support shut up after the PK and then especially after the red card. Two bonehead moves gave us 3 points on a platter, and no one of them was not the PK. While the Fire came out and attacked after going down a goal (I know, shocking), Espinoza's flying elbow really put SKC on their heels and Kamara's Rec. League brain fart in front of their own goal was a costly mistake. Vermes has bigger fish to fry than the rookie ref he put on the grill last night. I mentioned Kamara's idiocy. It was still a Rec. League brain fart type of play as you say . The kc fans are stating the same things. The ref did a good job. Both big calls were correct. And vermes is an ass for calling out a ref who called a pretty decent game The Sporks definitely self-destructed, but we dominated from the very beginning of the 2nd half. Espinoza is a thug
The majority of the comments fit the theme. Every single Chicago fan I interacted with at Toyota Park was an absolute jackass. I most likely just got a bad luck of the draw, but they left quite the bad taste in my mouth. I wasn't expecting a warm welcome or anything, but damn.
No, this has been my experience too. Full disclosure... before moving to Kansas City I was a Chicago Fire fan, having grown up there. They're still kind of my second team.
wow erasing my comments because you don't like them, high class from the KC mods. it's still wack as hell cross posting other people's comments to new forums instead of responding in their forum where there's nothing preventing you from posting and don't pretend like you visitors weren't talking plenty of shit yourselves before you start calling other people jackasses
The creator of this thread has been doing this for about a year and a half. This is simply a different POV of comments. It is not meant to black box anyone or give us an opportunity to pile on to your posts without having to face a response. Your post, on the other hand, contained name calling. Would you rather I gave you an infraction than simply delete it because you failed to read a disclaimer? And yeah, we did have a few jackasses make the trip and sit in the SKC section. I don't really have any control over people who choose to act that way. I know I didn't treat any Fire fan with disrespect (hell, I sat with one).
Sorry if this thread offended you. I for one realize that ALL of us, as fans, look at our own teams with preconceived notions. As mentioned, i have been doing these threads for a couple of seasons. Take it as a compliment, because the premise of the thread is that I value YOUR opinion. I may not agree, but do believe opposition threads provide us with a point of view that can often times lead to a clearer view of our club. Do I cherry pick what I put in the thread? You bet. I only put in comments that mention our fans, our manager, our players, and our ownership. And if an opposing fan throws out a good zinger about us that I think is damn funny, I even include it. So, call me names if you want, it just shows your lack of understanding of the purpose of this thread. Best of luck the rest of the season.
No need to apologize Diego. It's just a message board. Not the floor of Congress. If someone's opinion is that important and "MUST BE HEARD," they're taking it way too seriously. Especially if it's just to trash talk. That's borderline schizophrenia. They should just go outside and start yelling at strangers on the street if it appeases them.
Not sure why the guy is so pissed anyway.....we handed them the victory. Take the three points and move on.
I was supprised actually, I didn't notice many Fire fans that were being buttheads. I fully expected a few on the CTA back to the hotel but that never happened. The only two that I noticed were some tool looking guys on either side of the supporter section. Tough loss. Most of what they said was true. Sad that the biggest jerk I ran into was the person from the flagship store of my company on MI Ave.
Me neither. I talked to a few Fire fans in the restrooms and beer lines. Everyone was nice. Besides the weather and the loss, it was an overall enjoyable event.
I thought the Chicago people were nice and even welcoming. The problem for me was that one of our fans was being a pin head to some of their people. There was a nice lady with her two young sons who asked very nicely if our guy would please use a different language when yelling over her kids (profanity). The SKC fan was kind of a jerk with his remarks. Probably too much to drink and frustration over the game.... but still out of line...
That's not out of the norm at all. I have had unpleasant experiences with Chicago fans since they joined the league including last year when I traveled there for the game. I have been hassled by Chicago fans in the parking lot at Arrowhead, I have been hassled by Chicago fans at CAB, and then last year at our opener at LSP. They have made it a point to walk through post game tailgates to talk shit win, lose or draw. I have had pleasant experiences with every other fan base I have interacted with either home or away except for Chicago's. They have a lot of wannabe hooligans for fans.
Putting my hat in the "no problems" pile here. I do not doubt for a second that there are some jerks in the Chicago Fire's ranks, but after screwing up and parking in the wrong location, my friend and I walked through plenty of Chicago fans to and from the game and the worst we got was "hey, what was the score? I didn't see it" and the best we got was "Hey, thanks for coming out". Saw a kid with a Fire cap on while sightseeing and a guy at a hot-dog place recognized my jersey and asked me about the game politely. I mean, consider that the Houston fans, for the conference final game, say they got yelled racial slurs and remarks at them from KC fans. I'd like to think that this is not who we are as KCians and SKC fans, so if we are going to ask those folk to overlook the poor actions of a few then I figure its only appropriate to do the same. That said, I did have issue with how the traveling fans acted at last year's LSP opener - and the comments made here tell me that perhaps the more hardcore fans are to be avoided... I haven't interacted with them enough directly to say one-way-or-another, but I'm definitely not going to go out and say that all Fire fans are jerks or whatnot.
