So why the move from Overland Park? Not saying it's a bad thing, just curious.

Has something to do with field availability. They could possibly be playing in Overland Park later this summer when the fields free up.

Other than the Cup loss to KC last season, DM didn't lose until the playoof elimination. If KC can drop 7 on the cheeseheads, maybe this will be a good game.

    Who's got the Brass?!?

Loss was to Rochester in the Cup. We beat KC 8-3, and 5-0 last year. Side note... second match was only 14 people shy of our 2nd highest attendance ever, 5,438.

    Link?
    IAHS, IowA High School?
The dates are open on their (DM Menace) schedule per the web-site, so it's a definite possibility. A couple high schoolers played for the Menace during the Wizards exhibition here, hopefully they get enough practice time together to put up a good showing. One that played was very impressive (Ben Brackett).
Should be fun, but could possibly be a hostile crowd for our IAHS kids. We have a decent size Men's Latino League and Hispanic population in the area that could make it a fun game to attend.
Since our boys (Menace) beat the Chicago Reserves 2-0 this past weekend (our first Open Cup game), the KC game should be fun. We travel to St. Louis to play on the 16th then play y'all on the 17th.
Sounds like Wisconsin could have a loooong year.
Best of luck this year (but not too much on the 17th!)...

    OK, two things:
    1) It's probably just a coincidence that a team leaves OP and becomes a winner...
    2) When did this become the Des Moines Menace thread? I'm OK with it if DM is something like KC's single A club or something.

Don't get too sky high about the Brass yet. I read the Souix Falls paper, and prior to the opening game, the opponents had no practices, had not gotten together to meet their coach yet.

Kansas City only beat this disorganized mess 3-1. Wait until they play Des Moines to get a true picture. Playing them a close game would be a good step in the right direction.

The Brass had only two (maybe three) practices before the Sioux Falls game. That's better than no practices, but not much.

Most of the Brass (9 of 11 starters vs. SF) played with the team last season.

BTW, the games Thursday, Satruday and Sunday are at Liberty Middle School.

The Brass are for real! [Rs]

    Consider these three items:

    May 14, 2003 - Boulder Rapids Reserve 1, Colorado Rapids 0

    May 15, 2003 - Kansas City Brass 2, Boulder Rapids Reserve 0

May 19, 2003 - Kansas City Brass vs. Kansas City Wizards, 5:30 p.m. in Sedalia, Mo.

Do the Wizards have a chance?

Yeah, I think I would bet on KC.

The above two scores should give you some indication of how poor Colorado is. Rapid head coach Hankinson was quoted after that game condemning his players lack of effort and hustle. He also mentioned being disgusted and that he let his players know they should come out with full effort any time anyone has paid to see them. He was pretty blunt.

Ok, I waited, and was hoping this would go away, but I'm going to address it now because this is about the 4th day in a row.

First, this isnt the Brass forum. There is a forum for the US Leagues, where the Brass should be discussed. It really didn't bother me until we had a separate thread started about the Brass a few days in a row. I didn't mind when a Royals thread got started, but it was kept in one thread. No one started a new thread every day the Royals won a game. Same goes for the EPL thread, one thread, all consuming. But now we get a new Brass thread after ever game.

I propose one of two things:
    1) We create an "Official Brass thread" (this is what I'd like to do)
    2) All Brass conversations are moved to the USL forum

If I'm the only one that even noticed/cares, just let me know.

    ***MOD NOTE***

This is now the official KC Brass thread. All talk about the Brass should be done in here. All Brass talk will be moved into here as well.

I have left the KC vs. Brass @ Sedalia thread on its own because it involves the Wizards.
