Lot of bad feeling between these two teams.
The Revo should be up for this one. Hopefully, we can see Jank playing his target man role.

Thats a tough call. They sure don't want to bring him back too soon because their are games coming up where he could be a real difference maker. OTOH, he need game time to continue to Gel with his team mates and to get game fit.

I think he will start on the bench and only come in if needed or to just get 20 minutes to help his fitness.

Most likely we will see start just what started against SJ but I would not be shocked to see Nicol adjust the lineup to match the likely KC lineup and likely game plan.
    Reis
    Alston, Barnes, Osei, Heaps
    Thompson, Larentowicz, Joseph, Castro
    Dube, Ralston

Doc, I have to respectfully disagree with your lineup. Based on your suggestion thas EJ would probably come off the bench and only play 20 minutes, the Revs would be lacking a target forward. Given recent history how Nicol loves playing Shalrie up top, I doubt it's going to be a Dube-Rally pairing. My guess is Nicol trots out an identical lineup to the RSL or San Jose game and tries to continue what has worked well (particularly RSL). Hopefully with Dube making runs off the target forward he'll bury a few (sitters or not, I'm not picky!).

OK, ok, the Phelan part won't happen (it'll be Dube), but I think the Mansally part will.

Umm, he did start Dube and Ralston as forwards for the San Jose game.

I'd like to see Castro on the right and Mansally on the left, as I think Castro is better than Nyassi and Thompson, and Mansally can get to the end line and he is fresh.

    Ralston-Shalrie-JL-Mansally
    Jank-Dube

Ralston vs Claudio Lopez will be a good matchup - I think it might force Lopez to spend more time making sure Ralston doesn't hurt them and less time forward.

Bottom line - we just beat RSL, RSL just beat KC with 10 men, should be straightforward.

    You're right, but....
We have had a way of *not* winning these types of games, frequently finding bizarre ways to wrestle defeat from the jaws of victory. I still think we'll win on Saturday.

Everybody is talking as if Revs were going to be playing Pine Manor rather than a club which beat us 3-1 in June and tied us 0-0 in July. I don't see this as a gimme at all, though I liked what I read in Lisa E.'s column.

Reis out with leg contusion. Knighton IN even though he's not 100%
Janny able to do full practice for the last half of the week so is available.

FWIW, I don't think any MLS match is a gimmie

Who says he's out? There only put him on the Probable list.

Still, can this team not catch a break from the injury bug or what?

The Injury Report on the Blog said Knighton would start. Reis is listed as doubtful but will likely be on the game day roster to come in if needed but will not start.

I don't think Knighton is much of a downgrade at all, he played very well when needed earlier in the season...agree with everyone that the Jank+Castro+Mansally lineup would be very nice to see.

Ref tonight is Jason Anno. 42 yellows and 7 reds given in 10 career MLS matches...

Only Heaps and Mansally are in danger of suspension for yellow card accumulation.

    Knighton is listed as probable?

    Do we have another option?
