Kayden Pierre Date of birth/Age: Feb 16, 2003 (21) Place of birth: Rochester Hills, Michigan Citizenship: United States Height: 1,75 m Position: Right-Back Genk interest reported: 🚨🔵 Excl: Genk are closing in on deal to sign MLS talent Kayden Pierre from Kansas City.21 year old fullback set to leave MLS for new chapter in Europe soon. 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/kDPrX8Qt3p— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 22, 2024 Signing with SKC: https://www.sportingkc.com/news/spo...d-outside-back-kayden-pierre-homegrown-player Wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kayden_Pierre TM profile: https://www.transfermarkt.com/kayden-pierre/profil/spieler/806614 MLS profile: https://www.mlssoccer.com/players/kayden-pierre-x9514/
🇧🇪 Kayden Pierre arrival to #KRCGenk was Michel Ribeiro’s (ex-assistant coach of the Genkies) project at the very beginning. 🇺🇸 #MLS talent will start with Jong Genk but quickly being integrated to Thorsten Fink team. 💰 Genk currently finalizing the percentage on the future… pic.twitter.com/lrijMyKC1t— Sacha Tavolieri (@sachatavolieri) August 22, 2024
Michel Ribeiro was an assistant at SKC who referred Genk to Pierre after he left SKC to take an assistant job at Genk. This will be interesting. Pierre, 21, has never played more than 1000 minutes in a season for SKC's first team. He's had injuries, but mostly its because he fell behind Jake Davis for right back. Davis and Pierre are roughly the same age (Davis born in 2002, Pierre born in 2003) and both joined SKC's academy in 2017 from neighboring towns in Michigan.
Looks like this will get over the line before the window closes. One US defender leaves Genk and another joins.
Vermes: "In these next couple windows, we're going to be very, very active."He also confirmed a transfer fee is coming back for Kayden Pierre (selling him to Genk), but he didn't give an indication of how much. #SportingKC— Chad Smith (@PlayFor90) August 25, 2024 He played every match from mid 19 Jun through 7 July, including 4 starts. He also played a half on 17 July. Since then he played on 9 Aug in Leagues Cup. He was not in the squad on 24 Aug. Looks like this one is a done deal. On this podcast, there is a discussion as well about the transfer and what it means from a SKC perspective. The specific discussion starts at 38:55.
This came out yesterday. Vermes told us that Kayden Pierre is in Belgium getting medical done. Move should be confirmed in coming days. #SportingKC— Daniel Sperry (@sperrydaniel94) August 26, 2024
I always thought this kid played better for SKC than he was given credit for. Eager to see how he does abroad.
The Medical has been completed with no reported problems. The Belgium window closes on 6 Sep, not this weekend, so there is still time.
Move is official now. https://www.sportingkc.com/news/spo...ender-kayden-pierre-to-racing-genk-in-belgium
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1479022306088123 They gave him number 2. Not a number for someone who is projected on the bench a lot.
Started in scrimmage against PSV: PSV and Genk played a 1-1 "fitness friendly" today. Richy Ledezma started for PSV, Kayden Pierre started for Genk.Ledezma played in midfield and Pierre played left back.Ledezma's cross forced an own goal from Bangoura (a DM who was playing CB). https://t.co/VnCsnrhFez— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) September 5, 2024
The plan was to pay a few matches with Jong Genk (U23 team) in the Challenger Pro League (2nd Division) then work his way into the full Genk squad. That timeline might be sped up some. Time for a name change as well. Thoughts. Kayden Pierre at Genk (really boring I know) It is Genk not Gent or Ghent or Gand - Kayden Pierre at KRC Genk From Burnt Ends to Limburger cheese - Kayden Pierre at KRC Genk
#2 is very educational, I'm all for it. Too bad there is no Gunt there, would be visually appealing too.
Quotes from today's match: "“It was a good test for our defensive organization,” Fink reflected on an instructive practice match. “PSV demanded possession, our redesigned defense had a hard time. Bangoura and debutant Pierre pulled their plans off well in an unusual position for them. This was also a good test for several youngsters.”
The Croky Cup Round of 32 Draw has been held. Genk will travel to Beveren of the Challenger Pro League. @dark knight please change the title of the thread to the following - "It is Genk not Gent or Ghent or Gand - Kayden Pierre at KRC Genk" He has not played for the regular side in an official match, so no promotion to the big thread yet. Thanks.
Two possible alternatives for this weekend. Cercle Brugge vs Genk 14 Sep 10:00 EST Not on ESPN + Beveren vs Jong Genk 15 Sep 10:00 EST Not on ESPN + Pierre will play this weekend, the question is which team.
Not on the bench, nor the starting lineup for todays 2-3 win over Cercle Brugge. Looks like tomorrow with Beveren.
Still waiting for his official debut, two possible alternatives for this weekend. Genk vs Dender 22 Sep 12:30 EST Not on ESPN + Jong Genk vs RWDM 21 Sep 14:00 EST Not on ESPN +
Started in Jong Genk match vs KAS Eupen. He played the first 79' and received a 6.4 rating in the 3-1 loss. @dark knight please change the title of the thread to the following - "It is Genk not Gent or Ghent or Gand - Kayden Pierre at KRC Genk Thanks!
Jong Genk vs Anderlecht Futures 6 Oct 7:30 EST Not on ESPN + Two youth teams struggling this season. Pierre should get the start.
Deinze vs Jong Genk 20 Oct 14:00 EST Not on ESPN + Jong Genk gets a chance to play at almost bankrupt Deinze. There is massive speculation that the Singapore investors of Denize have turned off the money and are looking to sell the club. It is possible that if a new owner is not found soon the team will not complete the season. Recent days have been a little more positive on that scene. Pierre should start.
