Good lord I haven't seen such a geek-fest on ESPN2 since they used to cover Magic the Gathering tournaments. They are doing live coverage of the final match today, and I have been watching every minute of it.

Me too! It's fascinating. Do you play?

I think it's interesting that Jeremy Shaap is holding his own as a commentator.

They just agreed on a draw! I wonder why? Kasparov looked like he was doing pretty well.

Draw? The fix is in! Kasparov and Deep Junior conspired to draw this one in order to set up the more lucrative rematch!

Who knew that chess could be as rigged as boxing?

I could be wrong, but I did see Don King in the background during the match. :)

The Tyson/Kasparov pay per view could be huge.

It's times like these that call for a shootout.

Schaap was doing PBP for a chess match? That I find humorous :D

Actually I'm a pretty avid (in fact..there is a "Challenge Tree to a chess match" thread in the Premium Members forum :D) player and I read his "post-game" interview, and he basically was saying he didnt have the stamina to keep on playing this match. He could have won it, but he says it would have taken him about 10 hours since the computer really makes no mistakes...

SOMEONE needs to come to NotSoccer and challenge Tree to a good game of chess.

I took him on, and lost VERY quickly [IMG] so someone needs to step up and give Tree a game!!!! [IMG]

The best thing is the had this on in the Vegas Sports Book I was in this weekend. Didn't see any lines on it but I was there after the last match started so they may have been taken down by then.
