2 teams that looked really bad in their USOC games, at least Columbus has the excuse of experimenting. At least we don't have Higuain to deal with
I'm just hoping for some fun. Trying to convince myself to stop caring so much about results and appearance. And just about drinking and yelling.
Bringing a friend that has been to one match back in 2012. (PM me if you have a ticket to sell.) Maybe we'll get a break from the rain. At least it won't be hot as the Dallas match.
To be fair the goal is on Medranda's lack of understanding as a defender. Should have played it out and let defense reset not up field
Yeah.. my sigh was just in general disgust at our subpar performance. There's no reason why we should lose this game, yet I fully expect us to come up short. I recognize that part of that is on me and my own pessimism, but they're not giving me any reason to feel otherwise.
The offense showed signs of life at least that half. Dom had to score on that cross from the answer. Bleh.
I should be happy with 3 points tonight, but we just didn't look good. Giving up a goal late when we have the lead and a player advantage was especially frustrating. Columbus is a bad team too. I guess we kept them winless on the road and got ourselves back to over .500 at home.
This game almost has the feel of the Dallas game. Glad we won, but.... This is the second time this year we've allowed a goal at home against a team playing with ten men. Was Benny culpable on the turnover again? Seemed hard to break down ten men again. Anyways, this all tells me we aren't so awesome. On the bright side, even if you took away his goal Zusi looked very good, and Map gave us some of that winger-type-stuff we've needed for two plus years. Im just glad they get to celebrate a win. Bc winning sometimes helps foster more winning. Last time Besler scored a goal, I went down to Johnnys to celebrate. There, I met my wife. Five years and two kids later, i rarely get to watch games as they happen anymore. Go figure. Life.
Well it was a fun game to watch. Lots of goals and chances. Is there another coach in the league that would start Olum over Beasler? Has a player ever lost his starting job because he played for the national team? Or do you think that he was just resting Beasler. The announcing crew on TV just said Vermes didn't want to disturb the back line that was doing well.
Came down from Iowa for the game. Second game I've been to. We aren't the greatest team but dang if that wasn't fun. -Zusi played like a madman tonight. He was all over and just looked like their was a fire lit in him. - The referee wasn't great, but MLS so it is what it is - The amount of times I yelled MEDRANDA WTF.. Too many to count. He had had a decent run but he was real bad last night. He goes to ground trying to make tackles way too much. He sometimes gets the ball, but then is on the ground and out of position. Needs to work on decision making... - Olum over Besler -_- glad Besler got the winner. Good for him. Real fun game to be at. Can't wait to be back. This could be a big win when we look back. Or could just be 1 random win vs a bad team. But I'll be an optimist and hope for be former.
Assist credits are awfully broad as is. I'd call that a solo goal. And also pretty much the only time in recent memory Sporting punished a team for being a man down.
I would argue there is little Olum does 'well' in defense or midfield. He's just a mistake waiting to happen. I thought Besler must be injured for Olum to start ahead of him. And since when has the back line been doing well, anyway?!
