Penultimate home game of the season. We might be dodging some thunderstorms for this one, but the temperature looks like it'll be about perfect if we can stay dry.
I know our season is shot but I'm hopeful for a decent game here. Almost out of home games... surely we can have one last romp? Though going by form, the Portland game next weekend might be our better shot.
They'd actually be pretty scary with a competent ownership and presence in the city's fandom. I hope they get there someday soon. It's fun to tease the Rapids about their attendance or that "we score real goals," but I'd like to see our rivals really pick up steam. Minnesota has started to show some teeth. Dallas, Houston, and Chicago are a bit whiffy and often only nominally rivals. Feels like RSL has had a strange sequence of seasons, and I never know if they're a big threat to anyone but us. Maybe St. Louis coming in will shake things up. I dunno, I like the idea of a cutthroat Midwest here, especially if we ever further subdivide the conferences due to expansion.
Up 2 -0, down a man with 70 minutes to defend and Peter has the boys push forward, wasting energy instead of sitting. Fast forward and we're down 3-2 and gassed. Based on the sum of 2019 I can only conclude that PV is an idiot.
I forgot to add that the red goes to a CB and PVs subs are two forwars and a mid. Had a CB on the bench as an unused sub. What an idiot.
He's always been a terrible ref. That said, Besler did kick the guy in the face, that is solid orange. On a yellow, Besler knew better.
My issue wasn’t with the Besler cards, it was with a lot of the other stuff he did. Running 20 yards to jaw at Russell while Colorado played the ball in on a goal kick trying to counter. Or the time he turned Gerso away from the ball to talk to him while Colorado was looking to throw the ball in. He just seemed to be making the game about himself.
