KC may be stinking it up lately, but I do think we need 11 players, not 9 on the field in this one.

I dont know, I think a lot of people are right in complaining that our attack leaves something to be desired, but it has for long stretches all year. Even with a sputtering attack our defense is good enough to carry the day.

KC is beatable, I think we will be let them enjoy the free fall a little longer at least.

Once again, this game is not on my shootout! In fact, there's nothing on shootout this weekend. I am so mad! what, once college football starts, shootout just goes away entirely?! This is pathetic!

That is horrible. That's what cable and satellite are all about, lots of channels so everyone can watch what they want to (even if they have to pay for it). I know that the pointy-gridiron ball reigns in Texas, but that is ridiculous.

I still think Onstad will have a great game tonight. But I just can't predict a Quakes win. 0-0 after 100.

Drop Donovan if he is not going to play 100%.

Otherwise Donovan - Walker makes more sense. One is a link man and the other is an out and out forward.

DeRosario hasn't been the same since his injury. His finishing has been poor before his injury and it got a lot worse after injury.

I guess it'd have to be considering the game hasn't started yet.

It's on local FSN here in the Bay Area, AND here's the Shootout listing from Comcast:

421: NYNJ/C-bus, 4:30 PM (also replayed at 7 and on FSW at 7)

    422: San Jose/KC, 5 PM

    423: Chicago/Dallas, 5:30 PM (solamente en Espanol)

So, Shootout is INDEED showing these matches today, and unlike last week, they seem to be showing several live. Are you sure these games just weren't buried behind college football in your online schedule?

PS--no idea why this thread was locked so soon...

    Nicely taken goal by Donovan.

DeRosario makes an absolute mess of a 1v1 with the keeper.

Team has looked fair, not great, not terrible.

    How Dayak looking

Dayak has been fine. He's staying at home on defense, not coming up on corner kicks. Basically being conservative and saving himself. The whole defense has been pretty solid, in spite of Kansas City pushing a lot of players forward.

That sure was nice to see the Earthquakes score in transition!!! I can't remember the last time I saw that. Looks like we may get to see another as Kansas City pushes for an equalizer. In the halftime interview Eddie mentioned that they need to need to score in transition also.

49:50 Earthquakes free kick, Mullin heads high.
51:00 Earthquakes break, Donovan heels to DeRosario, centering pass intercepted. "DeRosario looking very dangerous."
54:41 EQ corner kick. Dunivant plays it short to Mulrooney, pass to Robinson. Header -- GOAL!!

    EQ 2 - 0 KC

55:00 Ekelund takes a 35 yd rocket that nearly beats Meola lower left corner!

56:11 KC pushing attack. EQ doing well at disposessing opponents.

59:58 Harris open top of 6 yd box and nearly scores, misses top left corner.

I don't want to get down on Onstad, but he's done this a few times now. Come on, Quakes. Get it together!

    EQ 2:1 KC

61:10 Gomez yellow card for hackiing down Mullan at midfield.

62:30 Ekelund called for soft foul on Gomez(?)

64:00 John Doyle says Onstead "gobbled up" the ball for about the 1,265,497th time.

64:30 Earthquakes chance as centering pass from Corrales misses Donovan. Good stuff, KC defense totally out of shape.
