Another tough road game against the undefeated (yes, I am using this term somewhat tongue-in-cheek as we're just three games into the season and Chicago is 1-2-0) Fire.

The Fire haven't allowed a goal yet this season.

They probably have a real good chance of keeping that streak alive.

Considering all 3 of the starting front line we’re listed as questionable on the injury report that seems likely.

Wow, this is an ugly injury report considering SKC have only scored 2 goals this season and all but one of the players on the list are attackers.

OUT - Alan Pulido (knee surgery), Gadi Kinda (knee surgery)
QUESTIONABLE - Khiry Shelton (calf), Daniel Salloi (calf), Johnny Russell (hamstring), Uri Rosell (hamstring)

Tzionis, I assume is good to go on one side, but who can start on the other? Vujnovic is still trying to figure out where the restrooms are so I don't think he will be doing much in the middle. If any of the guys that are questionable don't start, I expect a really unusual line up.

It'd be one of those where under a different coach we might actually expect a formation change to suit the roster as it is on that day. Under PV it'll probably be Duke on the wing opposite Tzionis.

    BenDover and mschofield repped this.

The injuries to the forwards are concerning. Especially when you consider all the Euro transfers we have that are coming off a full season and aren't used to playing through the summer.

Of course I say this and then PV comes out with what looks like a 3-5-2/5-3-2 or 5-4-1...

TV guys just called it a 5-4-1. The "we're outgunned" formation.

Yeah, clog the midfield and try to escape with a point. I feel sorry for Vujnovic, his first two games he’s likely to be a total non-factor through little fault of his own.

Is it time to start phasing out Melia?

At least PV made and adjustment. It actually played pretty well in the first half. The team is having to deal with a lot of bad luck to start the season.

IMO he's been slipping lately and at his age, 36 in May, I don't see him improving.

He did make the big 1v1 save that ended up being called back earlier.

I think he's still a top 1/4 keeper in MLS

Not the response, by Tim, that I was hoping for.

I haven’t been this depressed since watching the old Wizards at Arrowhead.

1999 is the only other season where KC has had 3 or fewer points through 4 games.

Shut your mouth. We all agreed never to bring up 1999 and those last days of the Newman era again.

Even the Chicago fans are saying they got lucky because Melia botched both shots from the run of play. Those are shots he would have stopped in previous seasons. However, Chicago was still a much better team today and deserved the win.
